Smile Re: Dear Honda, can you please buy my beloved Ridge back?

If you can find one, any used 06 Ridgeline RTL or RTS at a central Arkansas Honda dealer will start at about $23,900. KBB lists a loaded 06 RTS 41,000 as retailing for $23,305 for this area. The local Buick dealer has an 07 RTL equipped like mine with about 5,000 miles and they are asking $31,000.
The Honda incentive deal around here was 2.9% financing for 60 months. Maybe I should have waited, but I love the chrome wheels, and the kids love the DVD player.

Re: Dear Honda, can you please buy my beloved Ridge back?

You know, I didn't buy a Ridgeline expecting it to be a pickup version of a Honda Fit. I bought it because it's the best pickup truck ever made (not just my opinion....see the reviews). And I bought it knowing it didn't get very good gas mileage. Can I now blame Honda?? Hell no. They built a fantastic truck, and I bought it. Nobody held a gun to my head and made me buy a Ridgeline. And now that gas prices are skyrocketing, I still love my Ridgeline, and I'll still drive it. Yep, it'll cost more to put it on the road. I'll bite that bullet and keep driving my RL. If you can't live with the gas mileage, sell your truck. No one will fault you for that....not even ROC members. But if you want to drive the best truck ever made, keep your Ridgeline. As for me, I'll hang onto my RL....and maybe eat a few more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Because it's worth it. To each his own.

Tcape,

I can't help to feel your comments as a low key jab against my unfortunate situation but, I fully understand what you're saying. You love your Ridge as I do mine. However, financially, I'm not as flexible as you.

I knew I was buying the best truck made and knew it would get mediocre fuel economy. I did not however predict gas to double, food prices to skyrocket and a decline in trade in value due to really high Honda rebates.

Can I blame Honda? Of course not. However. They certainly know that they aren't selling well due to the reasons in the paragraph above. Did I forsee these problems? Nope... Neither did alot of Ridge owners who are turning to their small cars to perform daily driving functions. My mistake is collecting dust in my garage while I make payments.

Yeah, I know.....whining is like rocking in chair. It gives you something to do but, it don't get you anywhere. Kinda like my beloved Ridge.

Re: Dear Honda, can you please buy my beloved Ridge back?

Fuel prices have motivated to fix some minor problems with my old 85 1/2 Porsche 944 Non-turbo.

I have been driving that.

Gets 24 city 36 highway and is a laugh a minute - still gets more comments then the Ridge from all sorts or people.

Life is a series of sacrifices.

Just think of how your Ridge and factory warranty will last longer.

85 1/2 was when they finally got it right.

I had an 85 as well 85.5 is a nicer interior sans the tri-nipple dash with inverted tach as it was known.

It now gets driven once or twice per month. A waste of a magnificent machine. I would take too big of a hit on trade in so, it has to remain parked. In a perfect world, I would trade it on a Civic Hybrid. I have kept Hondas in my driveway and will continue to do so...except for the Ridge. It's home is the garage.

And I thought being bannished to the man-room was a good thing! LOL!!

I'm desperate....Please buy my Ridge back so I can stop whining.
Drive your Ridgeline to any one of the border towns in Texas and pull into a convenience store. Leave the engine running with a $100 prepaid gas card on the dash while you go in and buy a beer. In the blink of an eye your problem will be solved and you can stop whining.

That $100 gas card may not allow the truck to make it across the border.

Then, I'm stuck with a truck payment, higher insurance and finding a ride home.

I love the truck but, it's gotta go!
