Thumbs down Owner options and opt outs for all software!

Owners should be able to select options AND turn off any and all software controlled features/warnings!
For instance: The option to turn off the function that locks the doors when I exit the truck whether I like it or not. I will never buy another vehicle of any kind that locks my doors when I don't want them locked.
Another: If you release your seatbelt while operating the vehicle it will scream (beep, beep, beep, beep, beep) at you until the end of time! I don't like to wear my seatbelt on my own farm when I am constantly getting in and out of the truck. A simple one or two beeps and a little light on the dash would be fine. My Infiniti doesn't scream at me (they must be a little smarter).

Your doors don't lock inless you push the remote lock button on your key. I live on a farm and get in and out of my truck as often as I like without the doors locking! (whether the engine is running or not) The seatbelt signal does not beep "until the end of time", at least not on my Ridge. It beeps a few times and then stops. Then it will beep again later, a few times, and stop. I'm sure it would be simple to disconnect the beeper if it upsets you that much. Frankly, I've more important things to worry about when I'm driving around the place. My Ridge sets in the garage all night, sometimes with the key in it, sometimes without. It's never locked when I go out in the morning!!!!!

Dude, read your owner's manual. There's lots of important info in there. Things that will help you with your frustration.

Read your owners manual? What a radical idea!

What you need to do is talk with your dealer. It sounds as if an aftermarket alarm was installed and that is what is causing the locks to lock.
