Re: Installed Kaixen Bi-xenon HID

The only way to do it corectly is to do a complete OEM retrofit. Any bulbs that are just put into the stock reflector will not produce either unacceptable performance of will blind oncoming drivers. I have just retrofited this last weekend a set of BMW OEM bixenon projectors into my ridge. These give both low and high beams. Took about 8 hours total. I had done this on my grand cherokee before so this was not my first time, the first time would have taken about 12 hours. If you are going to attemt this for the first time. I would recomend getting a set of replacement headlights off from e-bay to play work on and then just put them in the ridge when done. I bought one on ebay for $35 and that gave me a some wiggle room when attacking the headlight housing with the dremel tool. The ridge is fairly easy to mount the projectors. The aiming mechinisim of the orginal headlights is retained so aiming is simple. I will post some picts soon.

www.autodoodad.com

The owner is on the Evo forums and I PM the vendor there. But I'm sure they will answer emails as well.

BTW I may be selling my Ridgeline. If so, I will be uninstalling the HID and putting them up for sale....

OK, so the field of light is great, but how does it make the headlight look? Can you show us pics of that?

Re: Installed Kaixen Bi-xenon HID

I'm selling my Ridgeline. So my Kaixen bi xenon HID kit is for sale. Works perfectly. Used for about 5 months. 5000K color which is totally white. Per my review, it incorporates a moving reflector for both low and high beam function (most H4 HID kits lose high beam function). I paid 375 shipped new. I'm asking 200. I accept paypal.

Re: Installed Kaixen Bi-xenon HID

Decent deal. Not sure I know enough about the factory light housing parameters and its funtionality with such an HID kit. If anyone has some compelling points either way; Im interested in hearing them.

Re: Installed Kaixen Bi-xenon HID

There is just no comparison between HID and halogen. HID is SO much brighter. The field of view is also wider. I will never drive another vehicle without HID. If HID isn't factory installed then I will buy another Kaixen kit. I currently have a 9006 Kaixen kit in the Evo and an H7 Kaixen kit in a Celica. My new Mazda CX-7 has factory HID.

Re: Installed Kaixen Bi-xenon HID

Do you still have installation instructions? would you consider lower offers?

Re: Installed Kaixen Bi-xenon HID

Installation is plug and play. Remove the old bulb. Install the HID bulb. Plug the RL's headlight socket into the HIB harness. Double side sticky tape the ballast anywhere convenient (I found the radiator support worked best). Done.
I will entertain reasonable offers. If I only get low ball offers, then I'll just keep the kit so that I have spare ballasts for my other Kaixen HID kits (I have a 9006 kit in my Evo and an H7 kit in a Celica).
