With it being able to hold weight, now you can have some dancing girls up there at the next meet! Then throw a pole up through the middle and you could be onto something

Thumbs up Re: Homemade Tonneau... Just for the Winter.

Wow! Great project!

Do you have an estimate of the added weight? I believe that was an early concern of your's...

Where does it "store" in the RL, when you need the bed to be open?

I really admire your ability to have taken this from an idea, all the way to a finished one-of-a-kind custom addition to your Ridge!

You GOTTA make a "badge" to attach to it! ...

Maybe somethin' like...

Thank you.... I wish I could make it out to the meet. It's a bit far.

Thank you Pug... I will have to get the finished weight. I do know the entire sub frame with the L braces is 18 lbs. I designed the cover in 2 equal halves, which are slightly under 7/8" thick each. They both fit in the back seat area or can be turned 90 degrees and placed on the bed floor.

Great job;

Looks really sturdy. with it being able to hold your weight, not only is it beautiful its strong. Is there considerable wind and road noise from the diamond plates and frames at highway speeds?

I have not paid attention for wind noise yet. I have been listening for rattling first since the cover to the rails is currently metal on metal. I found one spot where the diamond plate had a slight gap between it and the frame and was causing a mild metal shudder noise over bumps. I took some "welder" brand glue and now it's gone.
