I am not in my 30s anymore guess you have to use that little blue pill to put 6 coats of Zaino on

Re: Clay and new paint

Yes, claying a new vehicle should be done. The biggest problem is rail dust, which are tiny particles of iron that are ground off and become airborne while your car is on the train. If you don't get these off, they will rust right into the paint. If you look real close (with a magnifying glass) at a white car, it's really evident.
Haven't heard using Windex, but to me it seems a bit overkill. I go through a 28 oz. spray bottle of Zaino wash + water to clay. And as far as other lubricants, it just depends. I've seen some QDs that destroy clay instantly, as well as some washes that will. Like the Clay Magic I use- I hate their lube so I use Zaino wash. I tried a Meg's wash one time and the clay disintegrated in minutes. Meg's yellow clay tends to disintegrate if you just look at it funny.

Re: Clay and new paint

This may sound like blasphemy to many, but due to a recent elbow and wrist injury, I'm going to check around with local detail shops to see what it would cost to have this done the first time. Any ideas what something like that should run? I'd like to get it clayed and waxed so the finish is protected. After my injuries heal, I'll maintain it myself.
