Worlds best wax

I've been reading the posts on claying which I'd never heard of before. I came across this web site :: World's Best Wax :: which sells high end wax, clay and other car care products. Has anyone ever tried any of these products. I've also seen some pretty cheap clay bars ($15) so I'm wondering how much one should spend for a quality product. Comments or opinions appreciated.

Re: Worlds best wax

my friend used this on his 98 civic, it looked even worst then when he bought it, i use turtle wax ice (wax the first time i wash my car in the summer and last wash in the summer, then use the polish every time i wash the car) it comes out looking so nice.

i did this for my 2nd car (3 year lease) when i turned it in it looked 10x better then when i took delivery of the car. i havent had a chance to wash my ridge since i got it (4/25/08) because of rain, on friday i plan to wash it, and again it will come out better then when i took delivery

Re: Worlds best wax

For the last 35 years I have never put alot of emphasis on the wax I purchase for my vehicles. I just stay with name brands like Maquires, Mothers and Turtle Wax. What ever has the nices looking picture on the bottle..LOL: 4 - 5 coats of wax per year, it usually takes me over a year to finish off a bottle.

Re: Worlds best wax

I'm a big believer in Ziebart's diamond gloss. No need for waxing when you have that on your vehicle. I've had it on the last several vehicles I've owned and have always been very pleased. You do have to get it re-applied/touched-up every year, but IMO, it is well worth it. Much like wax, it makes the vehicle's surface very smooth so less dirt and grime stick to it. Washing it is a cinch and not an entire process. Oftentimes, hosing it off gets the majority of the dirt and grime off without even applying any elbow grease.

I have an 8-year old vehicle right now that I stopped getting it touched-up 4-5 years ago and it still shines like new when washed.

It's sort of on the pricey side (~$300 for initial coating, then ~$75 annually), but I think it's well worth it if you plan on keeping your vehicle for several years. Plus, each year during the touch-up, it's basically like getting your vehicle detailed because that's essentially what they do to it.

Re: Worlds best wax

I've used Zymol for years on my street rods, which I show, as well as every day drivers. They have different levels of quality and application difficulty. It all depends what you are looking for.

Re: Worlds best wax

I recently waxed the Ridge'. I had in my garage an older can of carnuba wax. The shine was unbelievable! My silver truck almost looks white in the sun it shines so much, and the paint is very smooth. This older stuff is much better than the newer stuff I have tried, and is very easy to take off and buff to a shine.

Re: Worlds best wax

Hey RidgeLI If you like carnuba wax try Griots Garage products. They have a couple different carnuba applications. I agree that theres no shine like real carnuba wax. Good luck

Re: Worlds best wax

I've been reading all these glowing reviews about Turtle Ice Wax & since there seemed to be one empty spot on the car care product shelf in my garage I went ahead & bought a bottle. I'm a long term Meguiars fan, I've never found one of their products that I was unhappy with but so many folks were lovin this "Ice" stuff I had to give it a shot. I shampooed the Ridge with Meguiars Gold Class shampoo, used my Absorber to dry it,parked it in the shade and made sure it was nice and cool to the touch. Here was the big moment ... I applied the Ice, I have to admit it went on nice, took a bit to dry to a haze and then I wiped it off and buffed. I was NOT impressed at all, in fact I had at least (3) other older products on my shelf that produced a better shine. The fact that it doesnt leave a residue on the trim or gaskets was nice but I can clean that off. Maybe it's just me but its back to Maguiars or Mothers the next time the Ridgie needs a shine.

Re: Worlds best wax

I just waxed my RL this past weekend with Maquires gold paste wax. Really like how it went on easy and came off easy. Now I need to figure out what polish to use in between waxes.

Re: Worlds best wax

Breimann,
Shouldn't yu always follow a polish with a wax for protection? I thought polishes removed the wax.
