I got a spoiler for my Mom's 300 from Sportwing-perfect paint match on a difficult metal flake color.

The chrome trim came in a roll and is long enough (1/8" x 20') to create the border around 2 moldings. So therefore I bought 2 packages. I first installed the molding then layed the trim around it and used masking tape to hold the trim in place. The trim is flexible enough to go around the bends. While the masking tape was still in place, I slowley removed the red backing from the trim and inched around the molding until I reached the end. BTW, I attached the trim to the door and not the actual molding. Also, there will be enough trim left for place accents on other parts of the truck.

The molding is is $169 and shipping is $14.95 so total damage was about $184. Not bad and well worth it.

Re: Installed - SportWing Painted Body Side Molding

Thanks for the info. Looks just like oem but less expensive! $169 vs. $394.50 for oem, but the oem has twice as much molding, right?

Re: Installed - SportWing Painted Body Side Molding

In response to 2006Ridgeline - I was trying to place an online order but noticed the site was NOT secure even though it states that it is. Basically all websites that are advertised as "Secured" must be SSL encrypted and show the yellow locked padlock icon on the bottom of the browser status bar. When I placed my order, the yellow padlock was not there. So I just gave them a call, told them what I wanted and what COLOR the RL is, waited a week then installed them. They wanted the actual factory color code but I told them that I didn't know and the color of the Ridge is Billet Silver . Besides, they have all the color code information.

These look exactly like the OEM versions and you are right, the OEM versions have 4 pieces per side which are set in the indentations on the doors. I kind of like the look of the door without the moldings in them because the indentations give the truck doors a 3-D effect.

Re: Installed - SportWing Painted Body Side Molding

If not too much trouble, could you snap a pic from a little farther back, showing the entire truck (or most of it) from the side. Thanks.

Simply stunning Paladin, this is a great find for those of us not willing to pay for the ridiculously ultra high price they want for the OEM strips of plastic!

Re: Installed - SportWing Painted Body Side Molding

Thanks for all the compliments and I really appreciate them all I find these moldings are functional because they are placed right where you would normally get door dings. It seems the OEM versions are for looks only. I am very satisfied with these molding and would HIGHLY recommend these to anyone looking to purchase painted body side moldings. Just tell them what color your RL is and they will take care of the rest.
