Re: Help! Right sideview mirror broken

Need to replaced just the glass on my mirror? I am picking up the new glass mirror for my passenger side tomorrow and am hoping someone can help me with some instructions. I am sure someone has done this but I could not find anything searching.

Re: Help! Right sideview mirror broken

I installed my replacement mirror and it was really easy. The bottom of the mirror has 2 clips and the top has 2 tabs. I just popped out the bottom and pulled downward on the mirror and it came right out. There are 2 wires attached to the mirror if you have heated mirrors. They just slide off. Before installing the mirror, make sure you spray the bottom plastic clips with silicone so it slides on the mirror housing easier.

Installing the new one is just reversed.

Slide the mirror tabs up into the housing making sure they are engaged and then push the bottom clips in until they are engaged. It takes a little pressure but the silicone makes it go on pretty easy.

Re: Help! Right sideview mirror broken

Hello fellow owners,
I was quoted $450+ by a Honda service agent to replace my damaged mirror since "the whole thing had to be replaced because it had heated mirrors ... ". Thanks to the info here, I had the confidence to replace it myself. It cost CDN$35 for the glass ordered from the same Honda dealership + 20min replacement time (would probably be like 10min if I didn't take the time to take these pics below.) Thoughest part was probably snapping in the lower brackets. Power mirror works ok, guess I'll see in the winter to test the heated mirrors.

Very easy, Pull out the bottom of the glass and put your fingers in under and just pull on it, It will pop out, When you pop out the bottom, slide the glass downwards to release it from the top,

When you are installing the new glass, Slide in the top and push on the glass 3/4 ways down and it pop back in to it's holder..

2 min job, I just replaced my two mirror covers on my RTX with RTL mirror covers..
