Thumbs down access tonneau

Well I had about enough! This cover is driving me #$%$# crazy!! The banging noise from the wind , the flapping of the cover. Ive tighten it up loosened it put velcro on the rods to keep fastened I ve siliconed all spots where the the wind can get in I had one on a previous truck and loved it but this application sucks!!! I will start looking for another brand very soon Just thought I would let you know before you spend good money for something that is very poor in design

Re: access tonneau

Thanks for the heads up. I am so close to getting a tonneau cover. I was hoping for a Roll Bak tonneau cover, but those turkeys probably gave up on designing one. Torza looks good. I've seen them on a few Ridgelines. I'll wait just a little longer.

Again, thanks.

Check out the Retrax we've had one for almost a year now and love it It's one finger open/close feature is great And they give a good deal to RL club members There name use to be first thing that poped up when you come on-line. Check out "Retrax ROC Discount" thread

Re: access tonneau

Mugen1,
You too ?!
I am still holding out for a BAK - Rol Bak. Coated aluminum roll up system.
I called and asked if they would have an RL model about 6 months ago and at that time they said no.

But I can't get over it. Should not be too hard to design a complimentary adaptor/side-rails to accept the Rol Bak on the Ridge. =)

Re: access tonneau

I've heard good things about the Bak Industries' tonneau covers. I really think they've given up on the RL. I would have bought one for sure. My second choice would be the Torza. I like the way they are improving their design.

Unhappy Re: access tonneau

I've got the same problem. I called the company and they said to tighten it up, loosen it, whatever...try these. So I did called ,them back because there was absolutely no difference, so they sent me their Trail Seal which goes between the tailgate and the box to keep any dust out of the box, but it wouldn't fit. I then tried some automotive foam seal which did fit between the bed and tailgate but it still hasn't solved the problem. I have even wrapped some fabric around the steel crossbows to see if it was the cover flapping against them that was making the noise. That hasn't helped much either. I'm starting to wonder if this noise is on every other truck but since the box and cab are one unit the noise is transferring into the cab. Anyways this is one frustrating problem from an otherwise great looking and functional cover, but this flapping in the wind is driving me crazy every time I go for a drive. The shop that sold me the cover has been very helpful and has even offered to take it back, I may just take them up on their offer.

mugen1, I went to their web site and registered for their "notify first" list for the Ridgeline cover. I then received an E-mail confirming my registration. So I don't think they've given up yet. I think I'll wait a bit longer for them to release something. Maybe if more of us registered they'd put more effort into getting something released.

Re: access tonneau

Here is a copy and paste of an e-mail I received from "Mark" at BakFlip:

We're in the development stages now and not even sure if we will be able to
make a cover for that truck, so no time frame is being stated. Hopefully it will be real soon. Wish I could tell you more...
