Whats up? New member - Sort of. Please tell me if you like my fathers Ridgeline.

Whats up? I'll give a brief introduction. My father recently purchased a '06 Honda Ridgeline. My first thoughts on them were... mixed. I guess you could say. When we took it for a test drive the first time, it was almost impossible to believe we were riding in a truck.

My only experience with Hondas has been almost exclusively 'ricers.' And it gives them a bad name. I can honestly say I wish my Grand Prix felt half as sturdy.

Just the way the doors shut, the bed closes, the windows work, the dash lights. It's just the little things that make my father's Honda so solid. I sound like I'm a sales rep or something, but good lord. That thing is sturdy.

So anyway, we just washed our vehicles today, and feeling in a good mood, decided to take some pictures. Please tell me what you think. He's owned in the past new Olds Cutlass', Lexus', and most recently a Toyota Avalon. I can tell that he is extremely happy with his Honda. He's a tall man, and it's the first chance he's gotten to have a sun-roof. But beyond that, I can tell he just loves the truck all around.

Thanks again.

Thanks. The wheels are Helo Diamond.

A local shop had them for ~$900 without tires. I'm a big fan of "extras" but my father is the bare bones type of guy. Thats why it's so surprising he got these rims, the chrome trim, window visors, tail light garnish, etc.

All in all, the Ridgeline is really something else. I think too many people ignore it because of it's looks. But I gotta tell ya, the look has really grown on me. From "meh' to a 'hell yeah.' The sound of the engine at wide open throttle sounds awfully good for a NA V6 too.

It's too bad so many ricers give Honda a bad rep. I may have to look into one for my next car.

Theres some better shots of the tires. And a some pics of my own car. Haha, sorry. I had to do it. I just waxed the crap out of it today.

Take a look at the chrome door moldings I put on. Not a bad price at $110 shipped. My opinion is that if you have chrome bumper accents AND chrome wheels, you have to have chrome door moldings. It makes the vehicle balanced.

Chrome-look door moldings installed (w/photos)

I liek those wheels too

Welcome to the forum. Tell your dad to join too. The silver moldings look good on that picture someone submitted of the redrock. But I'm not sure it would look that good on a silver, especially if it has pin stripes. Anyway, I'm also a bare bones kind of guy. I recently ordered a bed mat but before that all I added was window visors and rear mud flaps. BTW, the wheels look great!!

Very nice, especially the wheels. Welcome to the ROC! And hopefully you will consider getting one for yourself!

I live really close to the new Village Point shopping center. Actually, to be more accurate I live close to the Pepperwood Bakers store.

When I read that I thought you meant door 'handle' moldings. Blah. But those door moldings actually look really good. You're right, it is much more balanced. I doubt I can get my father to get it, but a man can try.

Appeal to his side of reason... "you don't want dings, do you?" Even if not the chrome moldings like mine, I think moldings are a good idea. Show him photos of the OEM body color moldings and then have him see what mine look like... You'll be an eBayer shortly afterwards. The OEM are fine, but you either have chrome or not.
