I’ve only owned my RL for 4-1/2 months, and I’m still checking out new-to-me systems such as VSA and TPMS. Anyway, today, for the first time, I depressed the VSA OFF switch while driving just to check it out. Nothing happened--no warning lights came on. (Previously, I had just checked the warning lights coming on during start-up. Everything always seemed to check out OK, and I never bothered with an actual system test until today.)

Got back home and checked the VSA fuses. Found that both the 20-amp and 40-amp VSA fuses in the engine compartment were not fully seated. Pushed them in about 1/16” and seated them properly. After that, The VSA disable function worked as advertised with the triangle warning light coming on. Took a short road test, cycled the VSA OFF switch, and everything worked OK.

So, I guess I've been driving for 4-1/2 months with VSA disabled, without any warning lights at all. Oh well, none of my previous vehicles had VSA either!

From other threads/postings, I found out that off-roaders who air-down remove the 20-amp VSA fuse to intentionally disable the VSA system (since the VSA OFF switch is non-functional with TPMS activated). The underside of my RL is in pristine condition—no scuffs, dings, leaks, or anything that would indicate previous off-road use. Also, why would both of my VSA fuses be loosened and not just the 20-amper if the original owner had done off-roading?

Additionally, my RL is Honda certified. Is there any kind of maintenance check where the tech would have a need to remove both of these fuses to check something out, but forgot to properly seat them when done?

Everything is OK with my RL now, but I’m curious to find out if anyone has any thoughts on how both VSA fuses came to be "popped" out of their sockets.

Hi everybody, new member here at ROC, owner of RL since '06, and happy to be here!

Just hit 32k, and I'm getting ready to put the aluminum "chrome look" wheels (ordered from H&A) on, and mount dedicated winter tires to these factory steels.

Installed the Weathertech side window and stone deflectors and the Wheelskins cover this weekend. I really love the fat feel of the cover, and opted for the original model; fewer seams, smoother look, what's not to love?

We pretty much treat the Ridgeline like I would any other pickup truck (of course), even hauling tons of stone, broken concrete, etc. to the dump. Squatted her down real good a couple times, in fact, one time a guy approached me and said seeing my truck there, loaded to the bejezus with a busted up concrete pad, just sold him on getting one. The bed lining is scratched up, but I don't care, that's part of being a pickup.

Thinking about getting a Bakflip cover eventually, but the new wheels/tires/weathertech stuff pretty much consumed the budget for now.

We still love our Ridgeline, and the only trouble it ever gave us was the refrigerant leaked out of a poorly or mis-installed part in the a/c system, and it was fixed under warranty.

Oh yeah, I wasn't going to say anything, but what the heck...I'm moderately ashamed to admit that the first 5 or so things in the "Things You May Not Know About Your Ridgeline" thread, blew my mind. :act018:And then I saw how long ago that thread was started and I felt REALLY stupid. I'm about 5 years on late to the party with that stuff...

I have a friend with a Sport Trac, and his bed extender works perfectly under his cover. I just assumed this would as well...
Of course, that could be what I get for assuming! Thanks!

Hi all, new owner of a used 08 RT. This is the newest car I've ever known and typically drive ones 5 years or older. However, my interest and available time for fixing my aging vehicles has dropped off as my family has grown. I found this one at the local dealership on a whim, in the market for a crew cab mid-full size pickup I thought the ridgeline offered some 'neat' features.

I went in fully knowing that this is not a rock crawler, I've done the jeep thing, it was awesome, and I won't expect anything to be more fun offroad but I'm in a new part of the country (the middle) and I plan on exploring in units of 100's of miles vs the 100 ft of trail. I also know that this isn't a heavy hauler. I've had the chance to actually need the capability of a truck but got by fine with a 4x8 trailer and my vw golf (1300 lbs once for a mile or two). I've got a wife, two dogs and probably a little boy or girl if we're so blessed. I needed something with a good all around capability for road conditions and moderate terrain variations, but with storage and a bed.

My favorite aspect so far (aside from the looks, but don't go by my judgement; I thought my last vehicle, an '89 f150, looked good) is the upright seating and the pass through between driver and passenger. I can rant for an hour about my dislike for the midsize trucks and their love of consoles. The ridgeline is a great use of space.

At this point, I don't really care if I overpaid or not. At $20k the truck is clean, has 20k miles, is certified, and I had them throw in a hitch and harness (the real deal honda wiring), some oil changes, and it came with :act035: 19" wheels with michelins!!!

I take care of my vehicles so I expect that it should serve me well without too much hassle as long as I'm up on maintenance.

I'm sorry if this is re-hash, but thought I'd post it for others that were looking as I've searched thru the forum several times now and didn't see this info readily available.

We've seen the posts about connecting your iPod with different adapters, and we've seen posts about connecting XM/Sirius radio, but I would like to have BOTH the XM/Sirius radio AND the iPod text displayed on the radio (unlike the USA spec or others w/ an additional line in, where the iPod dispays text but the XM receiver would not...)

I was looking at the PXAMG and saw that it had "two" inputs, both of them seeming to be mini DIM connectors. I couldn't figure out why both input connectors would be the same yet the 2nd cable (besides the iPod cable) was just RCA, why not the cable to a XM unit? I looked at the PXAMG adapter for the XM radio alone, and yup its the same base PXAMG with just a different cable combo!

After some searching, I find I'm not the only one to make this discovery, and this website actually is selling both the XM and iPod cables, along with the SCC1 Sirius tuner, with the standard PXAMG "gateway" for $249.
Honda Ridgeline PXAMG XM/iPod Combo Kit

After some searching around, if you are willing to piece-meal the parts together, you can get the items separately for less (at least right now):

Get the PXAMG iPod w/ Ridgeline Adapter Kit from BestBuy for $130 (this price actually includes BOTH the Honda adapter AND installation?? Compare to other shops that you have to buy the adapter separately):
iSimple - Apple® iPod® Direct Connect Kit for Select Vehicles Model: ISIM73
Then Add the SC-C1: (Crutchfield has them on sale w/ a rebate for $39 right now!):
SiriusConnect SC-C1 universal tuner
Finally, add a PXAMGSR cable from Amazon (click on the "other" listings, they have some for $33+S&H=$40)...as a Side note, it seems that the PXAMGSR 'adapter' is nothing more than a mini-DIN cable that you can get for $8??

So, $210 and you've got both Sirius/XM and iPod direct connection w/ text display (but have to dink around w/ $30 rebate w/ the SC-C1). Or, the kit for $250 isn't horrible if you can't find better pricing.

Or, if you've already got the iSimple (PXAMG) then just get the SC-C1 and PXAMGSR cable to add built-in Sirius/XM :)

The other affordable option, esp if you already have an iPhone or iTouch, is the XM Skydock adapter, but this will NOT show text on the radio. Also, you always have to hide the iTouch/phone when you park so punks don't try to breakin for it (which is why I'd rather go for the behind dash install). But for $70 ($30 rebate at Crutchfield) you can get going for pretty dang cheap:
XM SKYDOCK for $69

I don't know how you guys do it. I know there are those here that regularly wash/detail/wax their RL. Me? Once a year...which means, it's now been washed twice.

Just finished #2. Wash, clay, wax. I know I should polish in there, but if I did, I'd have no energy left for the wax. Took from 10 - 4:30 (lunch break and break when I had to turn the truck around, for shade). I'm beat. :act063:

And I know the agony is coming. Where's the Tylenol???

Of course, I haven't touched the inside yet, save for the windows. Tomorrow's task...if I can move.

Hey All!... i have an Intake Air Leak Problem!
I took off the air intake cleaned my throttle body with it still attached to the manifold,
i sprayed some throttle body cleaner into it and scrubbed it,
put the air intake back on, started up the truck
and now the check engine light comes on saying i have an intake air leak ...

I checked all the hoses and everything seems to be plugged in. I sprayed the throttle body cleaner at different hoses to see if the engine fluctuates and it doesn't... so i don't know where the intake air leak is coming from??!?
Thanks for the help if there is any!

The other day ,I had to stop fast on the highway , I came close to not stopping in time. It should not have been as much drama. No pulsing of the abs just bad stopping power. Am i the only one with this problem? I was standing on the petal hard. definitely not a confidence builder .

The one on my 06 RTL gets sticky if it does not look dirty it feels sticky and Icky

I tried cleaning it with vinyl and leather cleaners, it feels good for a while but after driving it a couple of times it feels sticky and again, Never had this problems with Ford and my wife's car either. It is not worn or faded at all, just need to clean it with those wipes for interior cleaning all the time.

Any suggestions? maybe some cleaner protector that will last? Any of you guys experiencing the same issue?
