i also intend on buying a used ridgeline, maybe either an '07 or '08 by Oct. i've noticed that the re-sale values have significantly dropped over the past year (to a buyer's advantage).

for the past year, i've studied this truck and fell in love more and more. Even my wife is looking forward to it due to the increase space versus a civic.

what to do, what to do!
Hi there, once you drive it there is no way back I am warning you! I flu to California picked up new Ridgeline at Tracy Honda and drove it home to New Hampshire. Love every mile since. Steering is so perfect, suspension is a dream, you can corner with same confidence with 600lb of load and you do not know you have this cargo! What a contrast to my ex Odyssey. MPG depends on your driving style. Enjoy.

Re: Price of gas affecting your driving habits

Why did you fly all the way across the country to buy a Ridgeline?

Re: Price of gas affecting your driving habits

Very good question fly 3000+ miles to pick it up? Must have been one smoking deal!

Re: Price of gas affecting your driving habits

Yes, it affects mine. I try to do all my errands in a single vs. multiple trips. Backing off the throttle seems to be offset by ethanol. Lately my average gas mpg has been slipping, down from 20 to around 18.5. May go back to a Tacoma if this keeps up, although I love my Ridgeline. Luckily I work at home.

I have a 80 mile round trip to work. I carpool 3/4 of the time so it is not to bad but looks like the wife might get the RL soon since she only has a 4 mile commute to work.

Re: Price of gas affecting your driving habits

I bought a 1994 Toyota Corolla to use as a comuter car. If I drive the RL I go all week on a tank of gas that costs $85. With the Corolla I drive all week on a tank of gas that costs $40. I miss the RL, but I use it on the weekends and long trips.

Well, I'm much more aggravated while driving now! You'll have to pry my Ridge from my cold, dead hands!!!

I was thinking about getting a smart car or a yaris for a commuter. I tried but the wife said no for the 1975 Porsche 914 with the 1.8 liter in it. It is like driving a go kart it has to get great mileage.

Re: Price of gas affecting your driving habits

it is what it is.

we still put about 1,000 miles per week on the RL, most of that on the 140+ mile per day commute to and from work.

Weekend trips into Chicago happen less often, but since it is the summer time, I have plenty of projects(using the new riding mower, staining the deck, laying pavers, etc) & fun(texas golf, tag football, cookouts, etc) to be had on our property.

I do set my cruise control on the morning commute @ 79 mph instead of @ 85 mph, and I have been getting alot more 400+ mile tankfulls.

We are still thinking about buying a commuter vehicle, but with all the miles we log on i-80(dangerous because of careless semi drivers), and the time we spend in the vehicle, it is hard to make the move to a small, uncomfortable, potential death trap, higher mileage vehicle.

Where do you work at (town)? I was going to say not to much happen in LaSalle but it is a very nice place. The 80 is a very scary place so I can understand. I remember driving home from College once doing 85 in my Trans Am and getting passed but a Semi like I was standing still! That scared the **** out of me!
