Re: What did you pay per gallon @ your last fill up?
$3.59 two days ago, just south of Boston at a Shell station.
Someone told me the Fed govt is thinking of reducing their tax by .18 for the summer. Any know about this? If so, the damn gas stations will probably just keep prices up and pocket the extra $$. Are there laws against this?

I think the push is to eliminate the federal gas tax for the summer to help with the gas prices. This amounts to 18 cents a gallon. At todays rate, that puts gas at $3.41 a gallon. Phew, that should solve the economy.... ![]()

Re: What did you pay per gallon @ your last fill up?
Good news.
At least my new 08 RL was filled up by the dealer yesterday. The Bad news was my 06 trade had over 1/2 tank when traded. Tried to siphon some out for the mowers; no way!!! Could not get the tubing to even touch gas!! Will get a $150 gas card at Home Depot today and fill up the Accord. That should leave enough for a RL fill up and a couple of small gas cans for the mowers. $3.4999 for regular everywhere in my area. Diesel is a consistent $4.09! ![]()

Re: What did you pay per gallon @ your last fill up?
I have paid as much as $3.55 and i bought that across the street from the refinery that made it. I work for a large oil company (top 5) Don't be shocked if by the end of the next US presidency we pay in the neighborhood of $7.50.
for reference Jet fuel is already around $6 and 100 octane avgas is around $4.75...and higher in some airports. Car gas is nothing... fill up your Baron with 150 gallons avgas or your citation jet with 600 gals and you get a different perspective. now think about an old B52 bomber at 30-40,000 gals per fill. We pay for the miltary jet fuel also. I guess we will need to get used to it. |
