Another new kid on the Block!

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself and let everyone know I picked up a new 2008 silver RT Basic model, but it is very nice.
A little history, let me start from the beginning
I married in 1991 and needed an new car, I was down at the Dodge dealership looking at an awful compact four door. When I told my brother I was interested in buyng a new car, he asked why I didn't consider a Honda? I ended up down at the Honda dealership and that was the start. I liked the new hatchbacks; test drove it, took it home to show the wife and she was like uh, we need a four door! Well I figured I better not upset the new wife, so off I go back to Honda and chose a 4 door lx civic. That car was faithful till the end when I gave it to my mother in 2003 and she decided to do a 360 in the middle of the freeway and end up hitting the concrete divider. I couldn't care less for the car, it was totaled, but my mother was okay, not even a sore neck or anything major. I replaced the civic for her with a used '94 Accord (can't get away from Honda). As it was, when my mother asked my brother for a car, we agreed to give our mother my '93 civic (an auto) and he would give me his '90 (manual) in exchange, so we wouldn't have to buy my mother a vehicle. To this day I still have the '90 civic sedan, but I am finally going to sell it. I picked up a 1993 Del Sol back in 2005, I have been using both cars back and forth to work, but don't need both cars anymore . I can't give up my little Del Sol, it is such a sweet car! Sorry I went off on a tangent, just wanted to give a little bit of history of my life with Hondas. I know ever since my first Honda, i told my wife if they ever make a truck, that I would get one. True to my word, Honda finally came through. I test drove a CR-V when they came out in ?'97, but it wasn't a truck. First impressions are I am really overall pleased so far. Funny thing, my friend and I met up for lunch this past tuesday and after we ate I told him let's go test drive the Ridgline. We are both fond of the truck. First time test driving and i ended up buying it. Talk about impulse purchases, I told him before hand that it was a mistake test driving it, because I knew I would want to buy it. So again sorry for all the left hand tangents, just wanted to introduce myself.

Re: Another new kid on the Block!

Welcome - from another new guy. '08 RTL is two weeks old now.

First Honda was our first new car, '76 Accord. Went for $3995.00! I'm giving away my age. The car went trouble free for over 100K and I was hooked. I thought the wife's '07 CR-V EX-L was the nicest Honda ever made... Then I drove the Ridge. Nuff said.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the basic RT. It has everything I need, and nothing that I don't need but would have paid a lot of money for, like the leather, the navigation thingy, etc.

With the RT one gets more than a "luxury" model would have from some other maker.
