New to the site... thinking about picking up a Ridgeline

I just wanted to post up and say hi. Nice site you guys have here.

My name is Jarrod. Im considering picking up a Ridgeline here shortly (probably in the next 2-3 weeks) but im also liking the Toyota's but for the money/options the Honda looks like the better buy. My Dad has a '07 RL in steel blue so I have driven that and got to check one out closely.

Just for the record im not a punk kid when I say my Dad. He's 54 and i'll be 27 next wednesday. lol

Im stuck between the white and black though. I want the black because it looks agressive and I think with some nice wheels it would look great but the whole black thing with seeing EVERYTHING makes me not want it. Then white is always a clean color too.

We'll have to wait and see how the ball bounces....

Take care guys!

Re: New to the site... thinking about picking up a Ridgeline

Hey welcome.

I had originally ordered black but through a quirk in fate I ended up with a silver Rigdeline. In retrospect I am happy I went with silver. Black is impossible to keep clean and shows every flaw and swirl. If given a choice between black and white I think I'd go white,

Enjoy the new ride

Re: New to the site... thinking about picking up a Ridgeline

Jarrod, you've got to be a good shopper to be considering a Ridgeline! There are some wonderful deals out there right now on RLs. Hope you can find a good one. As far as color, pick the one that works best for YOU. I got a Formal Black RL, and it's the only color I even considered. However, I really enjoy detailing my autos. It's "hobby time" for me. If you enjoy cleaning and detailing your auto, black is a great color. Nothing shines when it's clean like black. But if messing with auto cleaning isn't something you enjoy, go with white or a lighter color. They shows dirt much less than the darker color, and don't require as much maintenance. Search the RL pics, and you'll find some great looking RLs in any color you can buy. As I said, pick the one that works best for YOU.

Re: New to the site... thinking about picking up a Ridgeline

Thank you sir!

Yeah I have been a car guy since before I could drive and have built a few show cars. I do find detailing fun as well. Its great to start with your vehicle looking a little out of shape and then pull it out and see it just SHIIIIIIINE!

Its looking like the formal black RTL w/ gray interior is what I will be going with in the next 2 weeks or so. I stopped at a few lots and checked them out today. Im excited!

Re: New to the site... thinking about picking up a Ridgeline

MOF81, be SURE to take a copy of the "Buyer's Checklist" with you when you pick up your Ridgeline. You can find the list at this link....... Check List - Buying a Ridgeline/Check List

When I got my '08 RL, it was dark by the time I finished the paperwork and got in the truck to drive it home. Not until a couple of days later did I discover that there were scratches in the bed, and worse yet, a burn hole in the carpet under the driver's side floor mat. If I'd had the checklist, I would probably have discovered both those things. DO NOT assume the truck is perfect when you pick it up. Good luck with your purchase. Wise decision to get a Ridgeline!
