Just became an RT owner! Lots of questions....

Hi All,

I am so excited to join the Ridgeline Owners Club!!

OK - Here's what I did! Tell me what I did right and tell me what I did wrong!

New 2008 RT Nimbus Gray with 19 miles. $20,750
Running Boards Black, Rear Mud Flaps and Roof Rack $900 installed
7 year, 100K Extended Warranty 2,154
8% Sales Tax and some DMV FEES

Now I want to add a few options:
Front Brush Grill Guard - I want this style but this one on Ebay for $209 comes in 7 pieces, made in china - is there a better 1 piece one available?

I also want the tow package - where is the best price??

What is the best 2" lift kit out there? I know that lifting Ridgelines has some faults - walk me through it you guys and gals!

Where is the best deal for tires and rims - I want to put on some wider 255's (I hear 265's rub)

How do I get an ROC sticker for the truck?! : 0

Thanks for any and all replies!!

~ James

Hi James,
Welcome to the ROC. You've come to the right place to find out about your truck and options for it.

I'll give you the link to the ROC sticker, but the ROC store is closed until after the national meet.

Welcome RT08 aka James to the club and congratulations on your new wheels. I to purchased the extended warranty and now I'm sorry I did. I recently read in Consumer reports that you should only purchase the extended warranty for vehicles with a less then stellar track record. Of course the Ridgeline has a fantastic track record. Live and learn I say! At least we're covered if something really bad happens. Enjoy your new wheels - it sounds like you have some nice mods in mind. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures before and after your mods.

You just bought a new truck, don't look for the cheapest guard.... you'll hate yourself later.

Hitch & wiring: You won't go wrong with the Hidden Hitch or a Draw-Tite.

true, but you never know what can happen at 93k miles Think of it as an insurance policy, likely you won't need it, but if you do, it can pay for itself many times over.

Yea I know and I'm sure that if I didn't have it I would probably need it. One of those Murphy's law things I suppose. I still think I would pass on it if I had it to do over again.

By the way, I like the gas price link in your signature. I hadn't noticed that before. Very cool I sure hope that red stays in CA and doesn't cross the Colorado river into AZ. I like yellow!

Re: Just became an RT owner! Lots of questions....

welcome

you did everything right

do some research here before buying hitch, tires or a lift so that your informed

alot of the questions you asked dont have cut and dry answers, they are still being openly debated. (oem vs aftermarket hitch, max. tire sizes, best lift kit, etc.)
