Another attempt to find.....

STILL looking for a vent visor that is NOT in-channel!!! After reading every thread I could find on vent visors, I believe now, more than ever I want to avoid anything to do with in-channel (window operations issues, scratching, etc.) And after looking at the installation insructions for the OEM ones, I want to avoid anything that has to do with removing gaskets too! Therefore, I want "stick-on" ones. I had "stick-on" ones on my Blazer for 9 years and never had any trouble at all! I loved everything about them!
So, PLEASE, someone help me find the "stick-on" ones!

Re: Another attempt to find.....

I am with you . I had the stick on's never had a complaint. I have a 2007 silver RTX. One of my favorite places to visit is Hendersonville. I am thinking about buying there. Looking for a good deal on some land close to town. I am not interested in a development set up. Born and raised in south Florida and ready to leave soon.

You're resticting your options so much that you probably have go oem. $150 at H&A. I got the in-channel visors from Burtman. No complaints.

With those you have to pull out the "thingy" from around the glass and that just doesn't seem like something I want to do. AND, it has "clips" you have to insert which really scares me!!

Here is the big complicated instructions for installing in channels that will be worry free, won't scratch your window and won't make the window go down every time you roll it up.
1. Clean weatherstrip channel
2. Remove backing on doublesided tape
3. Stick visor into channel
4. Roll up windows overnight

Complicated, huh.

I'm sure that those who have installed in-channel ones followed your example of instructions to a "T", but there are those, all over this site, that HAVE had issues, especially with the window up feature!
Not complicated, just not THAT easy, apparently!

Unfortunately, it is not complicated at all. Just remember whenever you read about an issue or problem on this board it is a very very small (usually a total of 2-3 posters) out of 100,000 trucks sold. Multiple posts by the same poster about the same problem (gas milage for example ) also makes it look like the problem is worse than it is. Everybody that buys ANY new vehicle will find something wrong with it. Every accessory ever made for all vehicles will not please everyone. The best thing you can do is your own research and make your own decisions. Asking for opinions is opening a can of worms because you know everyone has opinions and they are all just a little different than yours or mine.

Re: Another attempt to find.....

JJ -

I'm in the middle here. I got a set of the in-channel ones for the Ridge. They went in beautifully, with no problems. No clips, no removing the rubber, just peel & stick and then leave the windows closed for 24 hours.

I liked them so much I bought a set for the wife's Pilot. The ones for the Pilot did not fit well; they bowed out, and the windows wouldn't close properly with them in. I complained, and was sent a second set. They had the same problems as the first set. We have removed thesefrom the Pilot and I will be ordering the OEM's from HandA very soon. The in-channels for my Ridge are still working just fine, though.
