Ridgeline in the desert

Hi - just got back from a beautiful weekend in Joshua Tree. Here's a photo of my Ridgeline outside the park (29 Palms).

Enjoy,
-craigger.

Re: Ridgeline in the desert

J-Tree is an awesome place. I have climbed there many times. Some of the best world class rock climbing in the south west. J-Tree is down towards Palm Springs just over 500 miles from SF. This photo brings back a lot of good memories. Thanks!

Re: Ridgeline in the desert

KE5TCG, I did see your thread on your trip - I really enjoyed those photos. I drove pretty carefully to try and avoid the desert 'pinstriping' but haven't washed the dust off yet. Years ago, I did Old Dale Road in my Pathfinder, but I remember bottoming out a couple of times and didn't want to risk it in the Ridge (no lift kit here).

Bruce - here's a pic of a climber at Trashcan Rock (no pics of me - didn't trust anyone to scale a boulder to get this vantage with my camera).

Here's a couple more of the terrific views:

Very nice! I've been up a couple of the easier routes on Trashcan before. Great rock - not crumbley like a lot of the stuff we have here. Thanks!
