Not happening here, have either of you ever removed it for any reason?

One thing that might work is to completely remove it and adjust the metal clips that hold it in. Then pop it back on. If that doesn't work, just put a TINY bit of super glue around that clip hole or something else to build it up. Then clip it back in.

Or, just adjust the clip and put something around the hole to give it more to hold onto. A small piece of fabric in the hole, electrical tape, etc.

Re: Dash trim coming off

Don't glue it. Bad idea.

Was it removed for any reason?

I don't mean to glue the two pieces together, but to rebuild the hole where the clip goes in by putting some glue around the hole's edge.

I've used this technique on toy repairs and restorations and it works. I'd recommend getting plastic specific glue like from ACE and sand the edge of the hole a bit. Once sanded a bit, clean it off with some alcohol. Once it is clean, put some super glue around the edge of the hole the clip goes into. Wait at least thirty minutes for it to harden without any pressure on it. DO NOT rush and put the clip and the trim in as it will likely bond and NEVER come off without power tools.

Re: Dash trim coming off

OK, I gotcha. I bet the panel was removed to have the radio removed and whoever put it back in didn't align it properly. There should be no need to work on the clip unless it's broken.

No, it's never been removed. I pushed it back down by hand yesterday and it's stayed so far.

Re: Dash trim coming off

Yes, mine was removed for the installation of an after-market radio/navigation head unit. I looked around the rest of area where it clips in and I found one other place where it's not clipping in. The area is down near the fuel gauge.

That's not that close to the head unit, so I'm going to ask the dealer to look at it again.

Re: Dash trim coming off

What you need to do is loosen up the mounting bolts for the HU and shift the HU over towards the steering wheel a bit. That should help the dash cover engage better.
