Don't neglect the cabin air filter!

I did. I went 38,000 miles on mine, replaced it last night, and the difference was huge! I could swear the fan blows twice as hard now!

Re: Don't neglect the cabin air filter!

It is amazing how much difference this simple upkeep makes. Here are photos and directions on how to do this yourself:

Clean or replace your own cabin filter, improve air flow & save a bundle

I'm hitting the 1 year mark next week. Do you think I should look into mines as well?

Re: Don't neglect the cabin air filter!

I did mine last weekend before superbowl weekend, I cleaned it out, but not change it out with a new filter. There was alot of fine dust, pollen, dust bunnies and dead bugs. WE all inhale that before they started putting cabin filters .

Re: Don't neglect the cabin air filter!

I changed mine at around 20,000 miles and the filter still looked good. I cleaned it out and will use it again although I replaced it with the brand new one I already bought. Not much dust around here I guess but even at that, I did notice a small improvement.

Mine was full of dust, bugs, pollen, ash, and other unidentifiable things. Its amazing how much stuff would have gone straight into the cab!

Mines might be a little extreme. A quick vacuum job and a new element should do the trick.
