If I remember correctly, the middle location between the seat heater switches was to be for the hazard light switch. However, after much debate, the hazard switch was relocated to its current spot.

Anybody else want to add to this (Maybe even correct me)?

I asked that question at St. Louis

the answer was that was where the passenger airbag cut off switch was going to go - the cut the hazard switch in 2 and put it there instead.

research said it was too likely to get accidently cut off in that spot.

I thought that space was for the electric flushing mechanism for the Porta-Drive devices? Everyone knows the tagline for the Porta-Drive, "first you say it, then it happens, and we are there to clean it up and shoot it out the exhaust!"
