Which fabric protection?

I picked up my new Ridge this morning. I got the RTS.............one of the reasons was it had the fabric seats instead of leather. (I hate leather seats!) But I know these tan seats are going to get dirty and stained unless I protect them. I know I can spray them myself with Scotchguard, but is there something better applied by a professional?

Re: Which fabric protection?

I'm surprised your dealer didn't provide you with an option. I know I had to sit through a five minute video on Simoniz treatments to the exterior and some other product on the interior.

I would just get the Scotchguard or the 303 Fabric protector.
Now you could always go to a place like Zeibart they do stuff like that as well as tinting windows also.

Re: Which fabric protection?

How bout some Wet Okole seat covers?
Ya a tad bit more than a treatment, but at least your seats will stay nice and your covers will look great!

Re: Which fabric protection?

No, the dealer didn't pressure me about anything! Easiest car purchase I've ever made. But they didn't offer anything to protect the seats. When I asked about clear bras, they didn't even have anyone they could recommend. I've got a place here in my home town that will protect the interior for $100..........which includeds seats and carpets. They claim it's a far better treatment than Scotch-guard. Of course, I have no way of knowing.

I'd never heard of these before. Looked them up. All I can say is I bet they're hot as................!!!!! Anyway, I think I'll pass. I just need the OEM seats protected. Maybe Scotch-guard is the best way to do that.

Re: Which fabric protection?

I used two cans of Scotchguard on my RL. Just remember that they don't protect against everything. I had some grease on a screwdriver that got on the driver's seat...didn't come out.

If you want ultimate protection, get seat covers but on the other hand, I like the color of my seats and expect wear and/or stains eventually despite what I do to prevent them.

Basically, there's no ultimate protection.

What I did. Just buy 3M fabric protection and spray three times on your seat and cloth doors handles. Make sure don't spray over plastic. To escape over spray on plastic use papers with Surveyor's Tape to cover plastic.
cost $ 9-10
