2008 Ridgeline RTL - dealer cannot figure out what interior color code E is, help?

I have a 2008 Honda Ridgeline RTL in Black Cherry Pearl with beige leather interior. I broke a clip and connector off the lower panel (instrument panel garnish-lower panel) when I was working on the wiring for the trailer hitch harness.

Looked up the part number on the internet and it gives me two choices:

2048421 013 1 COVER ASSY., INSTRUMENT DRIVER(LOWER) TU WARM GRAY

2048422 013 1 COVER ASSY., INSTRUMENT DRIVER(LOWER) TU DARK GRAY

When I went to the dealer they said they could not determine what part number to order without the interior color code. I went out and got the code "E" from the door panel. They said their system only showed three possible interior color codes: A,B,or C. So I left without getting an answer.

Can anyone tell me what color my RTL with moonroof has; warm gray or dark gray, or neither-something else? It is really dark brown, maybe gray, but not as gray as the black leather interior models.

I ordered the nice set of plastic molding removal tools from Bernardi, so I hopefully I will have fewer mishaps in the future. Needed them for the installation of the roof rack also. What is the best way to release those clips holding the lower panel in place? I tried to use needle nose pliers and a small flat blade screwdriver.

This board is really helping me out. Inexpensive cabin filter replacement, great side moldings from sportwing, RIDGELINE badging on moldings, ridgeline window decal, turtle wax ice liquid polish and cleaner, cheap $1.87 rivet tool for my side steps (I used the bearing method and it was slick as a whistle, just like tightening down a normal nut), great price on an extended warranty from Saccuci (I know some do like them but I felt is was great piece of mind).

Nice try Pug, but my VIN sticker looks nothing like the one in the picture. I do not have any paint codes or interior codes at the bottom of the tag. Also, there are no letters A,B, or C in my VIN number.

It seems baffling to me. If anyone else has a 2008 Dark Cherry Pearl RTL with beige leather interior please chime in because you will probably have a similar issue down the road. My truck was manufactured on 12/2007.

I might just have to take the lower dash apart again and get the number off the actual part.

It's not necessarily the dealers fault. Honda made it very confusing with the color codes and even if you type in the vin # it will sometimes come up with multiple color options for it. There are even some parts where the color in honda parts system doesn't even match to the real color of the vehicle.

Let's clear this up. A "VIN" number doesn't give you the paint color. The Paint Code does, which "should" be located near the driver's door jam. That identification should provide both exterior, and interior colors.

If H&A Accessories (ROC Sponsor, Carmichael Honda dealership) knows the difference in color codes, then so should Sparkland's dealership.

I would try this website I've been replacing things left and right inside from leather to the little clips for the A/C /Heat vents.

Sparkland, I have an '08 Dark Cherry Pearl with the only interior color they put into that color Ridgeline - Beige - and I had the same concern/issue when I ordered the carpeted Honda floormats. The "Light" mats turned out to be the ones for the Beige interior, and they are actually dark brown, but as opposed to the "Dark" mats, which are actually a charcoal gray, I suppose they are "light". Probably the same goes for your plastic part - go with the "Warm" (Huh?)
