By the way, a trip computer (ie: MPG) should be standard on all RLs, just a function of the mileage counter - we shouldn't need a nav system. You mean Ford is light years ahead of Honda - my 98 Expedition had it.
Cadillacs and Lincolns have had them since the late 1970s.

You may be right on that.

But, I thought I read somewhere that the reason they deleted the Trip Computer was because it was showing too accurately or too easily to the consumer the not so good (poor) gas mileage performance for the RL.

Honda is real touchy on good MPG performance.

I could be wrong - it's been awhile.

Unhappy Re: WANTED: Signatories for Trip Computer Letter Final Draft

Hey Friends-

I am SOOO embarrassed that others are asking "who the heck is Joe Mac", because I haven't been to the ROC for over a year now and I'm Joe Mac.

Yet I am thrilled that the thread is still alive and well! Such a basic thing to be lacking in our stellar, otherwise state-of-the-art Ridgelines... it's just crazy that Honda omitted it in the first place and crazier still that they refuse to accomodate us.

No excuses, but I had to take detour to places elsewhere complements of the world's finest Navy, but am back on an even keel for now.

Sent the petition to Consumer Reports way back when we just went over 100 signatories. In my rush to get it out before shipping out, I got the address or zip wrong (can't recall) and it was returned undeliverable, but did not find that out until months later and was distracted from the cause.

Thanks Joe (JOZ RIDGE) - you ARE THE MAN for keeping this going all of this time! I only read a few posts back so far (gotta lot of catching up to do) but I saw that you "bumped" it to the top recently to get more "signatures". I'll probably find alot more "ROC old-timers" doing the same as I read further back. Y'all have always been too awesome!

I'm sending this thread to my printer now before (Joe) CSIMO takes (Joe's) suggesting to lock it down due to my perceived utter indifference and ROC neglet to heart!

Got to stock up on paper first... all I need is just a little more time...

Really though thanks to all for hanging in there. I'm going to send it off to Consumer Reports soon - with tracking and return receipt!

Good to know that the ROC still rocks.

Your friend and one very poor correspondent,

Joe Mac

Re: WANTED: Signatories for Trip Computer Letter Final Draft

I wish I were a geek.

Does anyone on the ROC know how to print an entire thread efficiently/all at once?

So far, all I can figure is to pull up each page (1-24 on this thread, and the original one) to print them one at a time.

Request all of the ROC's super-geek's help on this.

If printing each "page" one by one is the only way, then I'm up for it!

Let's ask for our Trip Computer again, now. Since it has been over a year that our friends at Honda have been ignoring us, I have no qualms in trying once more to illicit a response from them while simultaneously providing a courtesy copy to every media outlet that I think sides with the American consumer and will listen to our humble and simple request.

I keep a trip computer in my Honda Ridgelines's glove box... it's a Steno-Pad Notebook... very reliable, but oh, so tedious. I was born in 1965 but it's 2008 I hear. Time to embrace the future (present and long past for most autos)!

CISMO- Can/will you email me that address? If not, I'll just send it to the publically disclosed corporate Honda address and all of the potentially interested parties that I can think of.

Love you guys and continue to love my 2006 Ridgeline!

Joe Mac

Hi Joe Mac. Welcome home. I don't really know you but thanks for what you have done here for us at the ROC. I did sign. But mostly thank you for your service to our country. I hope to meet you one day and can't wait to see what else you do for the ROC. You clearly make an effort and an impact.
