Post WANTED: Signatories for Trip Computer Letter Final Draft

Hey Fellow ROC'ers-

I was asked to post this on a new thread to remind others that our mission is almost complete and to advertise for last minute signatures!

Please find the final draft of the letter that many of us want to sign and send to Honda in our hopes to be heard concerning our desire to gain trip computer functionality in our Ridges.

If you have any questions about this effort, please review the original thread here:

Trip Computer Petition?

We still need to come to a consensus on the best way that can all "sign" the document. Please read the suggestions on the above mentioned thread and post any support for the method you prefer or further suggestions there.

In the meantime, it would be nice to keep this tread as "clean" as possible with simple postings such as, "/Signed/ Joe McDaniel".

That way, if nothing else, I could print out this thread and send it as an attachment to the letter. In any case, I will send it via registered mail to ensure delivery.

We also need to confirm the name of the best person to whom we should send it "attention to"... we sure don't want it to get lost in the customer service department! Again, please post those suggestions on the above thread.

There are some great ideas, and I want to do what we all (or most of us) think would be the most effective.

So far, we have approximately 45 ROC members who want to sign. Please do so here, on this thread.

If you want to sign, but are hesistant to use your name for some reason, just post "/Signed/ Joe Mac" (using your own "handle", of course).

If you are not one of the original 45 that have been involved so far, but want to sign, please do! If you have suggestions or see a glaring error or problem, please post your observations or concerns on the original thread.

We're almost there! Thank you all for your support and patience.

UPDATE: LadyRidge was kind enough to post the letter to her website last night, with a "signature form". Please take the time to go there in addition to signing below. It can be found here:

http://www.cdcgraphics.com/petition.html

Also, flymuck found several GLARING grammatical errors that I just fixed. Thanks flymuck!

And COZABRI has some great advice:

Quote:
I signed the Petition but will also print it out and send it in. I would encourage everyone to actually send the letter and maybe personalize the content a little. I do a little lobbying at our state legislature and know for a fact that at least legislators view personalized letters with much more weight then e-mail campaigns. Not that e-mails don't have some impact, but when they know someone took the time to send them a letter they definitely take notice. - Coz

Dear Honda,

This is both a letter of appreciation and a request from many satisfied, excited and loyal Honda Ridgeline owners. We wish to convey our deep admiration and sincere gratitude to all of the men and women within your company who had a role in conceptualizing, designing, engineering and building the most versatile and multi-functional pickup truck that the automotive industry has ever known.

In your industry, we are known as "early adopters". Conventionally, those of our ilk are presumed to be "risk-takers", but this is not so with us! Many of us are long-time Honda loyalists, some are more recent Honda owners, while still others are first-time Honda buyers... but all of us were aware of your company's unwavering commitment to quality, value and customer satisfaction long before we purchased our peerless pickup truck: the Honda Ridgeline.

In the spirit of honest and loyal friends seeking to offer constructive advice, we wish to point out and request one reasonable improvement that would affect customer satisfaction exponentially, yet at minimal cost. There is little room for improvement, to be sure! In fact, our suggestion/request is merely a functionality that you already provide in all of your other navigation-equipped products and that is a standard feature in most vehicles on the market in the Ridgeline's price range:

Trip computer functionality (specifically, within the navigation system).

Trip computers have been a basic feature found in myriad automobiles built by a wide number of manufacturers for years. The lack of one in the Ridgeline is, in a word, surprising, especially to those of us who currently own or have owned other Honda's whose navigation system has had this functionality for years. We are still hopeful this can be accomplished via a simple software upgrade. If not, please advise us on what we need to do in order for us to gain this indispensable feature.

Please know that we extol the virtues of, advertise and encourage others to purchase the Honda Ridgeline on a daily basis - with confidence and pride - just as it is. Furthermore, most of us believe that it is one of, if not the best, single purchase that we have made in our entire lifetimes. Thank you for your consideration of our simple request, and again, thank you so much for the Honda Ridgeline!
