LATCH Restraint, does the "latch" fit the clip on your child seat???

My friend tried to put her Eddie Bauer brand seat in my truck by using the "LATCH Restraint". The metal "latch clip" on her child seat was not big enough to fit around the "latch" on the truck seat. The latches in her Isuzu Axiom are smaller and her seat fits fine. The latches in my truck are much bigger in diameter, I assume that maybe newer or different brand seats fit fine??? Or maybe there are different size "latch hooks" for the seats???
I do not own a seat as I do not have children.
Does anyone know "whats up" with these latches???

You need to read your owner's manual. The large diameter loop at the top of the seat is a simply a guide for the belt. The clip / latch location is at the base of the seat.

Jeffro has it right. The actual "latch" is underneath the seat for the seating areas closest to the rear passenger door. The center "latch" is located in the junction between the vertical and horizontal area of the rear seat. The manual will have a nice description of the appropriate connection.
