Honda shuffles Alliston 2 production...
The Ridgeline is currently built at the Honda Alliston #2 facility in Canada. The plant was opened in 1998 to build Odyssey's. The Odyssey moved to Lincoln, Alabama since.
The Alliston 2 plant has been building the Acura MDX, Honda Pilot and Ridgeline since.
Honda is now moving the Pilot production to Lincoln, Alabama. The MDX and Ridgeline don't have enough sales to keep the plant operating at full capacity so Honda is now moving some Civic coupe production to Alliston 2. Alliston 2 is scheduled to produce 60,000 Civics per year.
Seems like a strange model mix to me, and the Pilot fit in much better than the Civic, but Honda has a way of doing strange things on the manufacturing side.
In summary, Alliston 2 was producing the MDX, Pilot, and Ridgeline, but will now be building the MDX, Ridgeline and Civic coupe.
