My 2006 Ridgeline, perfect or problems? (Exclude MPG & read post #1)My Ridgeline has:

Since the ROC is where owners and prospective owners come to share information about the Ridgeline, it is only natural that various problems that owners experience get discussed in the search for solutions and improvement. Are we inadvertently making the Ridgeline sound like they are all plagued with problems? We have all read posts about water leaks, creaky steering wheels, radio reception, paint problems, and a few other things that some owners have experienced. I am intentionally leaving out gas mileage because a complaint about poor gas mileage is too subjective and will naturally vary from owner to owner for a wide variety of reasons that are beyond the scope of this poll. The poll is about manufacturing defects, NOT opinions about design flaws or the lack of desired features. I encourage ALL Ridgeline owners to vote in this poll even if you choose not to post comments. You Ridgeline's build date can be found on the lower square drivers door sticker closest to the ground.

The point here is to try to get some idea about the number of owners that have had no problems with their Ridgeline, some minor problems that were easily taken care of, or have major ongoing problems. I suspect that the vast majority of Ridgeline owners will have the same experience as I have had which is no problems worth mentioning.

In the second poll choice, the intent is to see if owners have experienced no problems beyond very minor things that could be corrected by the owner themselves or by the dealer’s service department in a few short minutes. Things that are so random and so minor that they are hardly worth mentioning should be left out of this choice in the poll. I think that we can all live with a light bulb that burns out, a loose piece of rubber door molding, or even a windshield washer hose that comes off shortly after taking delivery of your vehicle. I also want to eliminate from the poll things that a specific dealer may have missed as part of the vehicle delivery such as neglecting to put the floor mats in or not having an ordered accessory available at the time of delivery.

After owners have voted, please post your build date (see your drivers door lower label) and the number of miles that you presently have on your Ridgeline. Please feel free to state how you voted, if you care to, along with brief overview comments. The purpose of this poll and this thread is not to discuss each individual issue here but rather get an overview of ownership experience, so please be brief with your comments. Also, please do not respond to comments posted in this thread unless it is to simply direct someone to another thread for further information or discussion about a specific issue or problem. There is a Poll Discussion Thread, My 2006 Ridgeline, perfect or problems? POLL DISCUSSION THREAD... that compliments this poll and thread. It is the ideal place to discuss what we see on this thread.

Re: My 2006 Ridgeline, perfect or problems? (Exclude MPG & read post #1)My Ridgeline has:

Build date 05/05, bought 7/19/05, now with 7800 miles.
My only issues were the auto door-unlock and the towing harness 7-pin connector, neither of which are failures, just design omissions. Honda has approved the correcting of both pending parts availability. The RL is definitely a keeper and a joy to drive.

My build date is 4/2005 and I have around 11,000 miles as of 3/5/06.

My Ridge had the A-Pillar water leak, fixed by the TSB and new carpeting.
I have done the "all door unlock" fusebox replacement.

All fixed and good-to-go!

Re: My 2006 Ridgeline, perfect or problems? (Exclude MPG & read post #1)My Ridgeline

I would consider most of my problems minor, but had more than 1 or 2, so I selected the "not covered on poll" choice.

Build date 4/05, bought 4/30/05, and 22,300+ miles.

I've had:
  • Whistling windshield
  • Creaky steering wheel
  • Loose cloth on driver's seat
  • Stripped lug nut
  • Low level of coolant upon delivery
  • Rear a/c deflector knob broken
  • Front dash speaker rattle (on rough roads...not fixed yet)
Seems like I'm missing something, will edit later if I think of it.

Re: My 2006 Ridgeline, perfect or problems? (Exclude MPG & read post #1)My Ridgeline has:

Build date 01/05
Miles 13k
Creaky steering wheel that has quieted on its own
Proactively fixed water leak at right front door myself TSB 05-045
Adjusted swing mode tailgate latch myself that stopped working TSB 05-017

I have a windshield that could be much more quiet that I will live with until the proper fix comes along. I would call this my only disappointment in the vehicle. Honda should redesign the molding to be noise free and windtunnel tested.

Re: My 2006 Ridgeline, perfect or problems? (Exclude MPG & read post #1)My Ridgeline has:

Build date 09/05 and absolutely flawless! Extra deep and glossy paint, super solid all around. Not a squeak or rattle or leak of air or water. No problems at all. Fast and tight, but comfy and relaxing. Truly the best example of the best truck built for normal people.

Purchased 10/31/2005. 6,000 miles on it as of March 1, 2006.

Thank you Honda for listening to me for nearly 20 years.
