Stereo Prob........

Ok, just all of a sudden rear channels of factory HU aren't working. I have replaced all four speakers with coaxes in the door using factory compatible harness and I have powered bazooka tube using the FAST harness, no splices or cuts in factory wires. Any clue what might have all of a sudden caused this?

Re: Stereo Prob........

IMNFNI, totally weird, probably have to do some trouble shooting, I would start by trying to run a signal to the speakers right after the HU, if you get sound then most likely "amp" in HU is bad or fader or something in HU, if not then maybe some wiring got loose, but that would be strange for both speakers to get loose wiring at same time

Re: Stereo Prob........

If BOTH rears stopped, it is not the wiring to one of the speakers becoming loose.

It is probably not the harness plugged into the HU, since the other speakers are working. But you should check anyway.

It seems as if the rear channel amplifier in the HU quit working. Either it failed, or its protection circuit kicked in because of a short circuit on one or both of the rear speakers.

I would pull the rear speakers and check for a short. Could be the speaker terminals are touching the door frame, speaker harness came off, etc.

If no fault found, I'd check the wiring harness at the HU.

Re: Stereo Prob........

I figured it had to be a harness or something like that because both rear had went out, but oddly enough, all 4 working perfectly fine now. Weird huh?

It won't be weird when it happens again. Problems almost never go away for good on their own. But maybe it's safe to leave it alone for awhile.

Re: Stereo Prob........

After over 100,000 kilometres my audio is doing the same. Stock, no volume to rears anf the fader does not show any rear option. Cycle power off and on and it works as normal. It is random, but recurring.
