get the eclipse. Way better sound than a kenwood. I hear rumors of a new eclipse double din on the way. Maybe you should wait and get the 5500 on closeout.

aftermarket nav. Opinions welcome

I'm also a big fan of the portables.

I've used a Garmin iQue 3600 for 3 years. This ONE GPS has provided service in at least 5 different vehicles, providing help to 4 different drivers.

It may not be as pretty as an OEM (or alternate) install; but it beats the permanent installed units.

Oops, I forgot the airplane trip that it took last spring. It also worked on the other coast - and in two additional vehicles.

How do you know they're an authorized dealer?

Thumbs up Re: So Im about to pull the trigger on a aftermarket nav. Opinions welcome

I have the NAV in my RTL. I use a Nuvi 360 in my Civic. As far as finding things on the fly, the Nuvi is the best by far. Just my .02

They both work generally the same way, they offer a full tuner solution designed to mimic the competitions communications back to the generic satellite ready adapter of your radio.

I sent link to my son about 2 years ago, but I can't find them now. I recommend a google search.
