DVD sound thru Stock Radio

Hi, I am about to install a Headrest DVD system and want the option to run the sound thru the kids earphones or thru my stock radio as an AUX input. What have you guys purchased that plugs right into the back of the stereo and interfaces directly with the stock radio, I have an RTL without NAV. This AUX input will hopefully be used for my MP3 player aswell.

Please help, Thanks

Jeeeeez, why don't you read the advice you already received in the other thread??????

Non-IPOD player

And you again failed to specify which model you have. Do you have a moonroof with XM or not.

Re: DVD sound thru Stock Radio

On my other vehicle we have the DVD in the headrest set up with wireless headphones for the kids. The wireless headphones use an FM modulator to send the sound from the DVD to the headphones.

When I want to listen to what the kids are playing in the DVD player I just tune the radio to 88.7 (that is the channel that the FM modulator uses).

If you use the wireless headphones just ask for the channel that the FM modulator is using. Or you can just channel surf along the FM dial to find which channel is used.

DVD for the ridgeline is next years project.

Wow, didn't expect anyone to get angry. I have not mastered the proper search methods, as apparently you have. I tried to bring that back up and failed.
Now I know where it is at and I will go back and review it and see if I can do it.
As far as I know, all RTLs have the XM radio option so I don't know what you mean about do I have XM, do I subscribe to it? No, but I don have an XM option on my radio. I don't have a sunroof.

Re: DVD sound thru Stock Radio

I have an RTL/SR with XM. I have 2 FM modulators and an Infrared transmitter in my truck. One FM modulator is in the roof mount LCD monitor along with the IR transmitter. The other FM modulator is inside the dashboard and is the type that mounts inline with the FM antenna. I use the in dash modulator for an aux imput jack like the RTL w/Nav has.

And yes, this modification can be done using the stock antenna. You have to do a little cutting and soldering but an inline modulator can be done and it does not affect reception when the modulator is off.

ChrisM, which model inline FM modulator did you use? I went with this model on a friend's accord and I had big time issues with alternator noise. I tried establishing a better ground and no luck eliminating the noise. Should I try a GLI instead? TIA. Sorry about the off-topic post but I thought some others interested in installing an inline FM modulator may have the same issue.
