USA-Spec IPod adapter

For those of you who already installed the USA-Spec IPod adapter, where did you let the dongle hang? Any pics?

Thanks,

Joe

Re: USA-Spec IPod adapter

I put mine in the glove box, but if I could do it again... Wait, I wouldn't do it again - it's a piece of junk. So let me put it this way, if I knew then what I know now (no menus, song name, etc) I would have put the dongle where I could reach it. That way I could unplug the iPod and select the album I want to hear, get it started, and plug it back in. This is the only way to select a particular album or song using this less than worthless POS. I keep hoping that Honda will wake up and fix this mess with a software upgrade for the Navi. There is no technical reason that I can think of that would preclude display of the menus on the Navi screen or head unit.

Sounds like he's ranting about Honda's Music Link...

I don't think he likes it.

LOL = Point well taken. Do I rantith too much? Yes, I'm ranting about the music link - AGAIN. I'll stop.

I didn't know this US Spec thing was out there. Is it significantly better than the music link? Better enough to rip out the music link and replace it with this?

Did I tell you that I don't like the music link very much. It's not very good...

Re: USA-Spec IPod adapter

I don't have the music link. My RL has no Nav but does have XM (altho I let it expired).

I do have an ipod and want it to interface with the HU as much as possible. After much research on the ROC regarding ipod adapters, I ordered the USA Spec thru Crutchfield (on back order). It doesn't replicate all ipod functions but it seems to exceed the music link in functionality. It is much better than the FM transmitter I was using.

Re: USA-Spec IPod adapter

I have an 06 RTL XM/no navi. I too went with the USA Spec and it works great.

Re: USA-Spec IPod adapter

How tough is it to install the ipod adapter. How long does it take?? Any info will help. I've got a 06 RTS with the 6 disc changer and no XM.

Thanks,

Derek
