RTL NAV.... Night-- Day-- Auto

I'm new here so most likely someone can direct me to a earlier tread. In all my other Nav systems (like to Garium on my bike) this setting is done automatically with the setting of the sun. On the Ridgeline if it's like raining and you turn on your lights the night screen comes up. I assume the "Day" leaves the bright day screen up, the "night" the night screen and the "Auto" changes the screens when the lights are turned on, which I do not like. Is there any way to tell the system to look at the time and change with the setting of the sun like most other systems do??

I believe if you turn the dash light dimmer all the way up then the Navi screen will stay with a white background while the headlights are on....not exactly automatic.

If it's "like" raining, or actually raining. Go to your screen set-up and follow the directions. I think you can set it to always day or always night. Not sure, but give it a try.

There is no automatic position in relation to the time of the day. Only in relation to a position of the light switch. In other words, if you turn your headlights on, it assumes it is night. This is why it is convenient to have daytime running lights. You have your headlights on during the rain and your navi screen stays at "Day" setting. All OEM Navigation systems I've used (incl. Cadillac, Lexus, Infiniti, Acura) work this way.

Re: RTL NAV.... Night-- Day-- Auto

I have my Navi set to dark when my headlights are on or bright when my headlights are off.... You have a little dial that dims your dash lights. If you push it up all the way just past a little click, your dash lights are on full brightness and your Navi should also override the night setting so it is in bright/day mode...
So, when it rains, turn on your headlights and push the dial all the way so your dash lights are on full and your Navi should also be on day/bright mode....

Hope this helps...

This is what I do, so far so good, but if the gauges are too bright I switch the navi from auto to day via the setup page. Maybe not as smart as an auto system as it could be, but it works...
