Amp High Level Input Adapter

Im hoping someone out there can help me out with this question. I am in the process of hooking up my Audiobahn amp and since the factory dec in the Ridgeline has no RCA pre-outs, I plan on just using the high-level input on the amp.....but I cant seem to find the wiring adapter I need to use. Can anyone suggest a shortcut as a means to attaching the speaker wires to the input on the amp (which has incredibly tiny little male connectors that the speaker wires need to be attached to). A typical female connector would never fit on a male connection that is as small as this one is.

Re: Amp High Level Input Adapter

If your amp is designed for line level inputs, don't you think speaker level inputs will damage it? It's volts vs milivolts right?

Re: Amp High Level Input Adapter

I guess I'm not understanding this then. What are you supposed to connect to a high-level input if not speaker wires?

Re: Amp High Level Input Adapter

Sorry. I misinterpreted the second line. Didn't understand the amp had speaker level input jacks. Speaker input jacks I've seen have had the female end on the amp.

Re: Amp High Level Input Adapter

For some reason most amps that have speaker level inputs have a unique 4-pin plastic jack/socket instead of any binding posts. They should supply the matching male 4-pin connector to attach to the speaker wires. If you don't have it and the amp is new you should ask for the missing connector. If this is not new then the connector was lost. I would not try to rig up some sloppy connection. Too much risk of the connection deteriorating later. Order a replacement from a dealer that sells that amp.

Re: Amp High Level Input Adapter

x2 - the man is correct. There's a chance the manufacturer used a generic Molex connector but I would not chance it.
