No, it won't play mp3s from a flash drive.

No, just contact support. They didn't hesitate at all sending out a new ROM chip. Took all of 30 seconds to replace.

You can also head over to the mp3car.com forum. Lot's of users of this adaptor there. One of the developers also hangs out there. Just a warning - use search before posting. Use it 2x before posting.

I've had no issues with mine at all. In straight AUX mode, it just displays "CDC 01-01 00:00" on the head unit, but in USB mode it displays the playlist number (1-6, corresponding in theory to a 6-CD changer), the track number, and the time elapsed. As klundy notes, though, the units are vehicle specific, and there are different units for controlling specific devices (e.g., Treo/Palm, Axim, laptop, iPod, etc).

I've had no issues with the volume or sound quality, either, but I do recognize that running off the headphone jack on my Palm T3 is going to have less volume than running off the jack on my laptop...

And oh yeah, be SURE to use "search" if you go to mp3car.com forums. They can be somewhat brutal to newbies who post without doing any background research first.

Is that just with this particular device or are your referring to the different USA spec one?

Do other such devices have "volume issues"?

Re: MP3 Player Aux Jack

Does anyone have any pictures of an install of the Grom or other iPod aux adapter? Where are people running the aux to? Any good mounting ideas for the iPod? I would like it to look clean!

Got an email from Grom, saying they are going to replace...I'll wait to see if new one is any louder.
