Re: 07 TL key fob conversion (Flip key)

sorry to sound ignorant, but why not just buy the rdx key? instead of getting the tl key plus the rdx casing? my wife has the rdx and i've always wanted to have the flip key like hers. also where can i get the key cut asides from by the dealership?

Each vehicle has their own unique rolling RFIDs (Radio Frequency ID). Essentially the different parts are needed so the Ridgeline can see it.

I posted a link to the webpage. What's the difference ?? They price the standard keys for the same $28, so could the part #'s be wrong ?? They also don't have any part # for the 2-button cover. Your thoughts ???

look very closes, if you dont know Acura just like Honda sometimes has 2 remotes, one for memory 1 functions and the other one for memory 2. What these function does is when the system see your signal out of remote 1 (your key) it sets the seat to your postion, when remote 2 signal is found (wifes) it goes to her seat postion which is probley higher, closer and more cramped. I never try the memory 2 key so I really dont know if it will work with the RL system, it should maybe but you never know. You know how Honda likes to throw a monkey rench in everything they make.

The RDX RF (radio frequency) is not compatible with the RL...that's the simple answer. I've read in a different forum that a locksmith maybe able to cut and program the key. You will need to call a locksmith to see if this is possible.

Re: 07 TL key fob conversion (Flip key)

I ordered the necessary parts from Acura of Peoria. They are located somewhere in AZ. The price including shipping was $71.77, which includes the TL blank and the RDX cover. There was an increase in price of the blank by Honda. Essentially, MEM1 blank was approx. half the price of the MEM2 blank. Apparently Honda got smart and upped the price of the MEM1 blank to equal the MEM2 blank. All this happened on October 1st. As a side note, I have made arrangements to cut and program the key to my RL so, I'm on my way to getting this mod completed. Thanks for the idea; this will be neat.

Re: 07 TL key fob conversion (Flip key)

I called Frank Leta Acura In St. Louis and just the '07 TL key and fob was over $85 and $25 to cut the key. I think the internet is going to be the best bet. Anyone find a good deal on all the parts?
