Aftermarket MP3 adapter

Has anybody tried one of these?

It apparently plugs into the aux port on our OEM radio, and will take SD, USB flash drive, and has a line-in plug.

Re: Aftermarket MP3 adapter

Interesting device... uses SD cards or a USB drive to hold the music, and a line-in for other iPod-like devices, but doesn't work with built in XM radio (if you haven't subscribed to XM than you can still use this device, it's just that XM won't work while this is connected to the rear of the radio).

I went the USA spec/iPod route, which works with the built-in XM radio, and a lot of folks here have had success with it. If I'd known about this device before getting the USA spec, I still would have selected the USA spec. Direct iPod connection/charging is what I was really looking for.

If you decide to go with it, let us know how it works out!

Re: Aftermarket MP3 adapter

After installing it, shipping it back becuase it didn't work, then re-installing the "new" one he sent me (which was actually the same as the first one) and it still not working, he finally says:

"Hi! Please ship it back to me. I will refund your money. It will not work with this car. Thank you!"

As for the XM comment above, there's Honda Y adapters that allow both XM and an Aux unit.

I wish this thing would work as it's exactly what I'm looking for. MP3s from a USB drive controlled by the steering wheel for under $100.
