Re: Factory Deck Crap?!? with Aftermarket Sub+Amp

sounds dumb, but is the popping 'only' come from the sub or the entire system? If it is the entire system, disconnect the line output converter and see if the popping goes away. Then really check your connections to the line output converter. You can have the best gear in the world, but if connections aren't proper they will all sound the same... like crap.

Re: Factory Deck Crap?!? with Aftermarket Sub+Amp

Thanks for the ideas. I do not have the factory sub hooked up. i disconnected the factory sub. Instead of tieing into the end connector on the factory sub, i merely tied in closer down the line (i.e. along the rear door jam).

Seat is not the rattle.

My JL W3 is 4 ohm therefore running the MRP 650 at 4 ohms sends 400W. Should be perfect power.

I actually think now its the amp because i hooked up my old Pioneer 380W RMS and no popping. But i think i have ruled out the deck being my problem.

The MRP650 is a power hog. What kind of wiring did you run to it, how is it fused, and where is it grounded?

Re: Factory Deck Crap?!? with Aftermarket Sub+Amp

PROBLEM SOLVED! The amp was the problem. I went and exchanged it for a new one and turns out poppoing noise is gone. I did not think it could be the amp because clean bass was still produced. But then i hooked up my old Pioneer amp and no pooping. Anyways, exchanged for a new MRPM650 and no popping. Wierd.

But i am grounding on the seatbelt bolt. grinded the paint off and down to bare metal. I have a 40amp fuse about 1 foot from the battery. Anything wrong you see here Shovelhd?

Thanks!

40A seems awfully small for that amp. What does Alpine say?
