auxillary input
i have an '08 RTX and there is a button on the OEM headunit that says XM/AUX. Does anyone know if there is actually an aux input in the rear of the unit? I would hate to open up the dash to find out there isn't any input. I have a Sirius S50 that i want to install with a hard connection, the wireless FM transmitter is horrible. My plan B is the in-line modulator that goes thru the antennae line, however i prefer to use the aux input if it exists. Help! i am having Howard Stern withdrawals during my morning commute.

Re: auxillary input
check this thread;
USA Spec Ipod Adapter I believe the only stock Honda aux in is with the Nav system. But this aftermarket one from USA spec is $150 and have read here that it is an easy install. |

Re: auxillary input
I know that the only model with the input jack on the dash (you know, where it's nice and accessible and every other manufacturer puts it) is the RTL w/nav. But, surely there must be an input on the rear of the unit that goes to the XM/AUX button right? THis way I could plug a cable into the back of the unit at one end and to my iPod at the other end and just hide the cable within the dash, thus giving me the ability to connect the iPod via the XM/AUX button.

Re: auxillary input
hmmm...i'm hoping for a $19.99 solution. Anyone know where to find a pic of the rear of the OEM unit? Maybe i'm out of touch with technology these days but i was hoping for an old fashioned RCA input in the rear of the unit to connect to.

Re: auxillary input
I don't believe there's a $19.99 solution. I'm also looking for an Aux input for my XM. I believe at the handaaccessories.com website if you go to the XM radio, I believe the installation instructions (PDF file I believe) show the back of the radio, but I'm not sure.

Re: auxillary input
I am thinking that the factory HU has a multi pin connector for xm/aux input, no simple RCA in (I am sure I and many others wish!) This being said, in that multi pin connector, there must be a stereo pair of line level inputs somewhere, if one could get the conector and do some tests, maybe it is possible to adapt a line input once you have found the right wires? The HandA XM install does not show a detailed layout of the HU.

Re: auxillary input
The OEM HU interface has +/- L/R only. No front/rear. You need a box like the USA Spec.
There's TONS of info on here about this.
