XM Radio Subscription

I got my 07 Ridge in September. The 3 month free trial was finished in December. I have read the thread about calling for the $77 price and WINBACK, etc. I had just put off calling to harass them for the $77 price.

Lat week in the mail I get a notice saying I can get it for 77 bucks, just call !!! so I did Saturday and it was easy!!! AND, the girl said it will automatically go to the full $144 price when my year expires BUT she said if I call back then I can get the $77 price again as they want our business!!!!!! So, from what she said it seems standard procedure to get the $77 price anytime.

Just a heads up. I was surprised to get that glossy notice in the mail. Wasn't paper in an envelope, just a glossy thing I almost threw away.

And, it had my radio code on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: XM Radio Subscription

Great news, Markriz. I've still got 10 weeks to go on my 90-day free trial. Anyone know if I can get the $77 deal now....and have it start when my free trial is over??
TIA,
Tom

Re: XM Radio Subscription

All I have to say is, USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN DEALING WITH (((XM))). Read all the fine print & don't believe anything one of their phone reps tells you. Period.

Christmas 2006, I gave my daughter an (((XM))) subscription, which I snagged for the $77 rate. Come expiration time, I asked her to call since I didn't have the radio code, which of course she didn't do. (((XM))) reps started calling at home, at my place of business, etc. Never once did any of them offer to renew at the $77 rate -- only the $144 was offered. And when I specifically requested that the service be discontinued -- figuring that if my daughter didn't think enough of it to call & renew, I certainly wasn't going to -- he said that he was unable to do that.

Three months later, I got a letter from a collection agency demanding payment of $38 for the three month extension that one of those sales reps "gave" me.

Did I mention that all the representatives I spoke with were all obviously working from scripts in a South Asian sweatshop? One of the reps was so totally incomprehensible that I just hung up on him. My bad, obviously, because he still got half the price of the subscription!

(((XM))) is the gift that keeps on giving. The first time I'd ever encountered a self-renewing subscription -- even when the subscriber requests to be un-subscribed!

My daughter's take? She prefers her new iPod anyway...

If (((XM)) gave away free receivers & subscriptions, I'd think twice about doing business with them.

Re: XM Radio Subscription

I had renewal problems and was charged when I told them not to (told them to cancel). Had a big fight with them, finally got the $77 and made them put me on invoice payment only. This way they cannot charge my card, period.

You would have to refer to the original thread for more details but do be careful. Once they got your credit card #, they will charge you full price at renewal time.
