I was under the impression that the "Fan Control" button was simply a diagnostic tool used by technicians, and not an "option".
BTW... the .pdf I was looking at is the one that enables downloading to a memory card, "snapshots" of the navi screens in .bmp. It doesn't explain the other buttons. I'd think someone with a diag manual would be able to explain the "Fan Control" on-screen button.
AND BTW... *** It's not a good idea to go poking around in those screens without some knowledge about what to expect. Be careful that settings aren't accidentally changed!

Technology doesn't frighten me. I get to design control systems that spin up 30 HP electric motors, flow millions of BTUs of natural gas, and transport tons of heavy metal parts around conveyor systems that have more pinch points than Bill Clinton has white hairs - all by pressing a single softkey on an HMI.
I'll admit I'm probably better at engineering as opposed to reverse-engineering, but I don't think toggling the Fan Control button is going to cause my RL to dump raw fuel on the exhaust manifold or apply full brake pressure while travelling down the highway at 75 MPH, at least I hope not!
I just like to know how and why stuff works. Re-engineering what Honda has done is not my goal. I don't have the tools, time, or patience to do so.
EDIT: Oh, the service manual does has a nice, thick section on the navi service menu, but mentions not what this particular button - among others - is or is not supposed to do.
