KUDA vs. ProClip Mount (Cell Phone)

I'm thinking of purchasing a mount for my cell phone (MotoQ 9c) for my RL and I like the idea of the products provided by both KUDA and ProClip. I haven't made my final decision so I'm soliciting input from the forum.

KUDA mount and holder HONDA - RIDGELINE (since 2006)

ProClip Mounting System - Choose Your Country

As I'm not the tallest guy in the world, so I plan to go with the mount on the left side of the center console.

I'm a BIG fan of A/C so I'm a little concerned about the ProClip installation as it would appear to cover some of the vent.

The KUDA appears to be a bit more expensive and slightly more difficult to install, but looks to be installed a bit higher and away for the gear shift.

Has anyone seen both installed? Is there another factor that I'm missing?

BTW, since KUDA doesn't provide a mount for the MotoQ 9c after I decide on the Vehicle Mount, I'll probably be going with the ProClip Device Holder.

ProClip Mounting System - Choose Your Country

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Dave Smith

I'd go pro-clip just based on the pics. That KUDA thing is HUGE!

AC rules in South Florida. I vote for the ProClip mounting options as they do not block the vents. I used a ProCLip mount in my Pilot and Ridgeline. They are good quality, non-destructive to your interior and easily removed.

I use Proclip for my Nuvi 360 and I have been very pleased with the product. The Proclip does mount over the A/C vent but it does not restrict air flow (IMHO). It's a little pricey but worth it.

I wish I had that kind of money to burn ... I spent a whopping $5.99 at Target for mine... There are lots of very good cell phone/MP3 player holders that clip onto the air vent. Fully adjustable and much less expensive.... Check out Target and Walmart....

ProClip. Is the threat level elevated?

Re: KUDA vs. ProClip Mount (Cell Phone)

yeah I reviewed the options at Target and a couple of the local auto parts store , but I'm a quality over quantity kind of guy. They all seemed poorly constructed and I REALLY didn't want to block an A/C vent if at all possible. I like the idea of a clean installation and a mount that was actually built to house my specific cell phone so as to provide the best possible fit.

At the risk of sounding cranky and anti-tech, I turn my cell phone OFF when I am driving. There's enough danger and distraction out there, that even the mere ringing of a phone would take my attention off the road, and make me all tense.

If you're talking on your phone and driving and have kids in the car with you....that's child abuse as far as I am concerned.

Re: KUDA vs. ProClip Mount (Cell Phone)

You make a valid point and I agree to certain extent as I have seen poor driving while someone has a phone stuck to their ear. That being said, my hope would be to minimize the distraction by utilizing the hands free benefit of a mount and speakerphone capability. But the primary reason for the mount is to utilize my phone's navigation capability.
