Will XM tuner in RTL work with new Head Unit?

Hey everyone,

I'm about to get a new Ridgeline, and I'm curious if the XM Tuner that is pre-installed on the RTL model can be used with newer Aftermarket Head units? If so, do I need a special adapter? If not, does that mean I have to buy another XM tuner unit?

Any and all info is truly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I don't know... but i suspect that the factory tuner will not function with an aftermarket unit. I'm sure the XM antenna could be adapted... but not sure about the tuner.

Right. The antenna can be adapted, but it's a custom made cable. The tuner, however, can only be controlled via the OEM HU. At least from a plug and play perspective.
