12s can work but they have to face up. The box has to be a squared off trapezoid. About 13 inches across the top. Maximum height about 9 inches. Driver depth can be a problem since you'll lose at least 1 1/2 inches of height due to wood. And you need room for cone excursion.

12's would def be a struggle.
I bet if you remove the under seat carpet and padding, you can get some depth though. 10 is a enough for me.. and I just went single. I'm thinking about upgrading to a better speaker though.. I just have a lower end Rockford sub. |
