Honda auxilary plug in back of CD player - UPDATED!

Does anyone know if this is a standard item across all Hondas? In other words, will a plug used for the XM/AUX plug on the back of, say, a 2003 Accord be the same as what's on the back of an RTS? It seems likely that most of the models would share the same part, and therefore the same components could be used in them. I'm looking for this info to see if I can use the Blitzsafe Ipod-input adapter that works in other Hondas. Does anyone have a picture of the plug, by chance? I can then compare it to the adapter that I have before I wrap it up for Christmas . . .

You might want to contact Blitzsafe and ask that question. They should be able to give you a more definitive answer.

No it will not, I am not sure what plug/model this unit has in common with it (yet). I have an Ipod adapter (new in the box ) for an 03 Accord if you ever sell that first one

I have a photo somewhere too...will try to post it. It's a little less dense and wider then the aforementioned.

If it helps any - the RTS stereo is made by Pioneer. I think the Accord units were always made by Alpine. Doesen't indicate interchangeability with non-OE parts though, just mentioning it.

Replying to my own post here, because I'm actually not convinced I have the right unit sitting at home...

Check out this thread, and compare to your BlitzSafe unit...I'm not sure really either way, but the (Metra) adapter I have at home for the Ipod allegedly is for a 2k3-k5 Accord and a whole bunch of other stuff, and I know it will not plug in anywhere to my RTS deck. Maybe things are different across lines or w/ w/o Navi?

XM install using Soundgate Snhond3 adapter

Hope some of this helps, and I'm leaving my post above for historic value

Thanks! It sounds like the plug is the same on both models - the Blitzsafe and the SNHOND3 use the same plug, so if the SNHOND3 works, the Blitsafe must, too. I will check it out tonight at home when I have a few minutes where my wife won't see her gift. I'll post a pic of the plug in case anyone else is looking for it, too. (The Blitzsafe does the same thing as the SNHOND3, but it also charges the Ipod, so there's only one cable to route. It's also a bit cheaper - $79.99!)

Here's the plug from the Blitzsafe HON/M-Link1 V.2:

Does this look like the plug for the SHOND3 adapter? I tried to use the photos you linked to to verify it, but the plug just isn't visible enough.

Yep! That sure looks like the same plug. I'm going to take a chance and order the Blitzsafe. I'm pretty sure this is going to work just fine. Thanks for the help!

Re: Honda auxilary plug in back of CD player

UPDATE: Failure! I carefully cracked open the dash, removed the CD player, plugged in the Blitzsafe HON/M-Link1 V.2, saw that it was charging my Ipod, and then hit the XM/AUX button . . . and got silence. Unfortunately, after all that work, the plug on the Blitzsafe doesn't do anything but charge in the Ridgeline. What a letdown.

So, obviously, I have an extra Blitzsafe HON/M-Link1 V.2 that works with either non-navigation or navigation equipped 2003-2005 Honda Accord and Element and the 2003 S2000 with or without the 6 disc in-dash CD changer, but is NOT compatible with the 2004-2005 S2000. Anyone interested?
