Re: Subwoofer for Ridgeline

I just want to add that, I think, an easy way to add base to your Ridge would be to get a powered sub. I personaly installed this sub in my Silverado Ext. Cab and was very impressed with the bass. This thing rocked the cab of my old truck. Actually it rocked a little too much and I'm going to give this sub a try. I'll report back with pitures and comments once I install.

Re: Subwoofer for Ridgeline

I thought that you all might be interested in the stealthbox from JL Audio. Igot the following email from JL Audio today:

Good morning Shawn,
I've been told production units will be available by July 15...maybe sooner.
Thanks,
Don Vertrees

Any news on when we could expect to see a stealthbox for the Honda Ridgeline, 2006 model?

Thanks,

Anxiously awaiting,

Shawn Reeves

Re: Subwoofer for Ridgeline

More of the email from jl.......

This enclosure will house a single 10w3V3 in a downfiring sealed configuration. Yes, you should be able to order this model through your local dealer on or before the 15th of July.

If I had to guess, based on other stealthboxes, it's going to go in center console.....where else they gonna fit a 10" without losing space?

Re: Subwoofer for Ridgeline

Good morning Joe,
No, the new Ridgeline Stealthbox does not replace the OEM subwoofer. In
order to fit a larger driver, we opted to locate the Stealthbox under the
passenger rear seat. It houses a single 10w3V3 in a sealed downfiring
configuration. cost should be in line with other Stealthbox models with the
same configuration and woofer size...$550 range?
Thanks,

550.00 bucks screw that.

Re: Subwoofer for Ridgeline

I have a lot of respect for JL Audio, but that's a lot of money for a single 10 inch subwoofer. My sub cost less than $200. And my system uses a driver with a cast frame, aluminum cone, and comparable specifications.

I think the cost of the past StealthBoxes were for the fabricated enclosure and the sub, not just the sub. I was surprised when I found that the S2000 version was around $550+ but I guess that's how they are recouping their custom design investment. (Obviously making one's own enclosure would be less expensive.) I would never pay that much for a subwoofer, but if it is well-designed the retail cost does compare to having an enclosure custom fabricated by a pro for a given spot within one's truck.

Re: Subwoofer for Ridgeline

I assumed the $550 was the complete unit - sub and box. Still expensive.

Re: Subwoofer for Ridgeline

yes its the complete unit then u have to buy a amp for it i assume to power that puppy. then it takes up the pass. rear seat space so u lose some storage. 550 is a bit steap unless it comes powered

Re: Subwoofer for Ridgeline

My local shop custome made my box, It fits under the rear drivers side seat.
It blew my mind , the sound that came out of that little thing. I love it. The box itself did cost 175.00. It is heavy duty though, it weighs about30lbs with the woofer in it. Although the woofer has a huge magnet on it.
