Bad Ipod adapter or bad radio?

Ok, I'm getting a little aggrivated. I'm on my second unit, which I noticed has a newer software version that my first unit.

If I leave the ipod connected and turn off the car, it's about a 1 in 10 chance that it will freeze up when I turn the truck back on. It will just read CDC.. no tracks, no EJECT, nada.. if I switch sources, I can't get the car to recognize the ipod adapter unless I unplug the adapter and plug it back in. Funny though, because the ipod will return to the exact spot it left off at.

Is this a bad radio, a hardware "bug" from leaving the ipod connected, or a radio on the fritz?

Re: Bad Ipod adapter or bad radio?

Not sure, but I know I have a similar problem w/ my iPod running to my Alpine 9857. I had to actually reset the iPod to get the Alpine to detect it.

I think the progress being made w/ iPod connectors is great, but there are still some obvious quirks. I hope you can get your resolved.

Re: Bad Ipod adapter or bad radio?

I haven't had any problems with mine. The one thing I do, is turn my radio off everytime I turn the vehicle off. I also take my I pod out of the truck due to the temp factor outside.

I use it everyday. The only problem I have is trying to find the songs or albums I want to play.
