Re: AC power converters ??

That's a 27VDC battery? It looks like a garden variety 12V tractor battery.

Most inverters make full AC voltage output (110VAC-120VAC) when the input DC voltage is 13.8VDC or higher, like a car battery being charged by an alternator.

Re: AC power converters ??

I suspect that is a 12-volt battery as you can clearly see the how the plastic is molded into 6 compartments (6 x 2 volts = 12 volts). I also suspect that meter may not be accurate. You need a "true RMS" meter from a reputable manufacturer such as Fluke. The meter in the photo looks too inexpensive to have that feature.

Re: AC power converters ??

Ok,

i'm going to make the real test with a car battery tomorrow morning. But for the tester I thing the result is accurate. I don't thing we need to spend 200$ for a tester to proof the % of lost & AC available on a DC/AC converter.

But i make some research on the web about the exactitude of tester and I thing you are right mine is a bit sheap and may not be accurate @ 100%, but at least we have some metrics to start discussing ;-)

Any suggestions are welcome.
