SteelCraft Tail Light Guards Installed

So, I order the "No Drill" SteelCraft tail light guards from this place, but it was dropped shipped from SteelCraft. Fast shipping, great packaging from SteelCraft.

However
, the Ultimate Auto Accessories website description should say "Drilling Optional if you go buy automotive grade double sided tape that we don't give you". The tape is for the bracket, but I opted for drilling & the self taping screw for greater stability. If you decide to use tape, just put it where I drilled the hole. The whole thing took about 30 minutes - less if you opt to tape rather than drill.

I removed the 2 bolts holding on the tail light assembly, and placed the guard over the light, lining up guard holes and the bolt holes. Hold it there and tape where the bracket screw hole is located. (I used the top of the tape as my mark edge.)

Wrap another piece of tape horizontally around into the tail light well.

I held up the bracket to the top edge, to see exactly where I needed to drill. (Or, where to place the tape, if you go that route.)

Mark it.

Ruler just for reference - I actually didn't use it.

Screw on bracket. You need to make this tight, as once the tail light assembly is on, you can not tighten this screw.

Throw back on the tail light.

Place the bracket over the tail light assembly, and bolt in place with the original bolts - and screw the guard to the bracket.

Here is the guard screwed to the bracket

Passenger side is the same.

All done. Quick mod that really adds to the look I am creating!

The quality is great! Everything lined up PERFECT! Fit and finish get's an A++, but I expected this as I have the brush guard on the front from SteelCraft as well.

Looks good. I'll have to consider those as well. Are the bed rails from steelcraft as well? I ordered their Bull Bar.

Re: SteelCraft Tail Light Guards Installed

Such a simple add on but it really looks good, especially with your ridgeline. I think I will get some soon. Thanks for the preview.
