Cabin Filter
Just curious if anybody has replaced their cabin filter yet? I was wondering what was involved and how to do it. I've got 39,500 on my Ridegeline..... I think it's about time to do it about 9,500 miles ago.

I've not done it yet but remember reading something about it....and not too hard. I know, if I remember correctly, it is similar to the 05-06 Ody. I did read on the Ody thread how to do it...not sure if it was Vertrkr that provided info.... www.odyclub.com if you don't find anything on a search thread here. I do remember it being pricey for the dealership to do, and its easy according to the post I read....just not sure where... ![]()

Re: Cabin Filter
Yup.....39,523 mi as of this morning. I bought my Ridge 4/9/05. I drive 3-4 K a month for my job. A lot of that time is spent in the woods in East TX.

Re: Cabin Filter
It's easy, I took mine out just to inspect and cleaned it a bit with an air hose. Just drop the glove box down and un-clip the little arm on the right side and then the glove box drops all the down and behind it is a panel that pops out giving access to the filter. Remember the filter is directional so put it back the same way, there's airflow arrows on the side of it.

Re: Cabin Filter
Empty out your glove compartment. Lower it. Take the things (can't remember what they are called) that are attached to each side of the glove compartment off. I used a pair of bent needle-nose pliers on the outside part and a flat head screwdriver on the inside part to loosen the two whatchyamacallits. After removing them, look for the damper that is connected to the right-hand side of the glove box. It's just hooked onto a knob that is on the glove box, so lift it up to remove. The glove box will now open all the way down to the floor. You should be able to see the filter directly behind where the glove box used to be. Slide it out and give it a good tapping on the work bench. Just tapping it against the work bench resulted in quite a few insects, sand, crap, coming loose. Pretty frail filter, so if using a blow gun, be careful.
Don't forget to connect the damper rod back onto the glove box. Just extend the rod as far out as you can and hook it onto the knob. Reinsert the whatchyamacallits back into the glove box. Voila, another DIY thing you can be proud of. This cabin filter change/cleaning can be done by anybody. It's that easy.
